Video: Pro Freeriders Roast Richie Schley in Retallack

Feb 13, 2019
by Pinkbike Originals

When Richie Schley asked if we wanted to join him at Retallack, it was a no brainer. With an epic crew and massive terrain, how could this not be a trip of a lifetime? After having all expectations blown away upon arrival, it sure was hard not to lose ourselves in the riding. Luckily, capturing nugs came easy with studs like Blake Jorgenson and Jake VanHeel behind the lenses. Not to mention they had Richie 'the most photogenic man alive' Schley riding for them. After a weekend of teasing the old dog, it was clear that this was shaping up to be a roast. He took the abuse with a smile on his face, never without a witty comeback. It’s easy to see why he’s been so successful beyond just being really, really ridiculously good looking.

We can’t thank Retallack enough for showing us an amazing time. If it’s not on your dream destination list, it definitely will be after this video!

A Roasting series on Pb would be gold. Phil Atwill, Danny Hart, and Ratboy Roast Brian Lopes at a Jib Session. .... but Phil swings back, Danny headbutts, and Ratboy blows smoke in his face...could happen.

Just did it last summer, worth every penny. And after exchange rate for us U.S. folk, it was quite a bit cheaper than $2000.

One of the top weekends of my 2018 was riding the lift and taking some runs with Richie at Stevens Pass. Super chill, fun guy that clearly likes to ride bikes!

Ray you totally sold me my first DH bike at YT Reno!!! I owe you a PBR or 12. Also, Sensus lites are rad as fuck. My gf still calls you upside down couch guy, she'll figure it out one of these days. She's smarter than me after all.

Inspiring video and I hope to be riding at half his level when I'm 50 but I have one problem with the video. I feel robbed by having the intro to Raining Blood but no actual Raining Blood...
