It's not the line, it's him. He's taking the same line as everyone else. I watched that section for a while today during practice and Gwin is just on another level. It's like his tires don't even hit the ground through there.
It looks like his suspension is super hard but he doesn't seem to get kicked around like the other riders. His bike just holds its line like he's riding on a smoother track than everybody else. Top skills combined with dialed suspension?
I have no idea, probably a combo of both superior skills and top notch equipment setup. It's hard to see it in the vids but there two spots in that rock garden that cause a heavy g-out. It flattens in the middle and then at the bottom it flattens out quickly. Like I said, I watched that section during practice for awhile and Gwin was just noticeably better. Rider after rider sounding like they were bottoming out or about to blow a tire. We were cringing. Then Gwin comes though like a ninja. Smooth and quiet.
Super pumped for my racers on Team KHS, with Logan grabbing a 4th and Kevin Aeillo grabbing 8th. Great work today and best of luck tomorrow and stay safe.
ps. holy crap luca shaw is flying this year!
Getting point to the WC is the best thing to happen to Pro GRT. More coverage because bigger hitters are stopping in instead of just staying in europe for the whole season. Love it.
excuse my ignorance as i'm here in the uk, but is this series a national champs deal or just east coast only? how many races are there over the season? the racing looks good and there's some big names there!
