PRESS RELEASE: Race Face

We at Race Face know that life can be stressful and sometimes that means losing perspective on what’s important – getting out and riding your bike. We’ve taken a small step to help you out with the launch of our brand new Getta grip.

Built with a proprietary RF rubber compound and finished with a directional hex pattern to match the natural shape and curl of your fingers when you grab the bars, this lightweight grip has a tapered inner core to prevent twisting and an increased end diameter to keep your hands on the bars when things get rowdy. Getta comes in a rainbow of hues for those who live life in full colour - from screaming neon green to classic black with a Kashmoney gold collar.

Every time you look down at the Getta grip – offered in both 30 and 33mm diameters – take a moment to remember to breathe and enjoy the more fun things in life, like shredding your favourite trail. Heck, you might even reach new heights of this crazy euphoric experience that we call mountain biking.

Visit your favourite RF dealer or head to shoprfe.com to "getta" pair of your own.

Easy on the puns, you might get barred.
  • 7 1
But can you Grasp the colour choice combination to improve the look of your ride?
  • 5 1
@dfbland: Hold on, I see what you did there.
  • 8 2
I can get a grip on the puns as long as we keep the bar high

Where can I getta getta grip? Cos when I gotta getta grip on a mate's getta grip I knew I had gotta getta getta grip of my own.

@sngltrkmnd: nice to see the jokes rise to the occasion. Let's just hope no sweeping judgements are made before actually trying these, though.

@rem17 you should catch a ride on this comments section, come on and Grab On.

Unfortunate, I can't install these on my downcountry bike Frown

Lol. Better than ghetto grip tho

Ergon's for 1/2 the price? sure! Always happy to have more single-lock fat grips available. If ODI made the rogues with a single inner clamp, they would be perfect.

Right now I like the Ergon GA2 fatties, but they are a little pricey.
  • 3 0
Same here. GA2's are my current favorite grip. These are the same diameter with a similar taper, more color options, and cheaper. Seem like pretty good reasons to give these a grip.
  • 1 0
@mtbandskiforlife: I like my GA2's...have you also tried Deathgrip? Considering some of those.
  • 2 0
@Svinyard: Tried the deathgrips. Wasn't a huge fan? I find the knurling to be too rough, and the mushroom pattern to be too far in on the grip to be useful. Maybe if you have super wide hands...? But they weren't for me.
  • 1 0
Deathgrips are my favourite right now @Svinyard:
  • 1 0
 ODI pro elite grips mate.
  • 1 0
@thenotoriousmic: They are OK but not fat enough and I don't like the knurling as much. The Rogues are big and squishy and grippy and awesome.
  • 1 0
They are worth the price, best in class, was big fun of esi however when I tried ergon - only them
  • 1 0
@bikekrieg: fair enough dude, I liked the rouges back in the day thought you’d like the elites as well.
  • 1 0
@bikekrieg: I think I’m going to retry spray painting on long necks from now on though.

 Raining dicks!
  • 2 0
after trying a dozen grips RF HalfNelson are still my preferred ones, grippy, simple design, super slim (29 mm) and works well without gloves.
My only wish is they got rid of those ugly end caps (swapped them with some bmx one, much more durable), just make them closed ended like these!
  • 1 0
Really nice feeling grip but they tear to easily and the bar plugs are unacceptable.
  • 7 1
 Sounds like Sram brakes.
  • 1 0
Yeah but, more on the ends to keep your grip, what?

We need less on the ends so we don’t get pressure points on our palms.

Who has their hands come off the end of the grip anyway?

If that’s happening, it’s more like a fitness issue ... lack there of.
  • 3 2
Glad to see that their ‘fat’ version won’t accommodate XL & XXL hands. Also, brands need to learn that when you increase the diameter of a grip you should probably increase the length too.
  • 1 0
XXL glove wearer here. I like 'em long and thin (OSI Longneck 143mm).

Checkout the Meaty Paws! Strait and Sensus are doing it right

Looks like your throwing a bunch of dicks at the guy
  • 3 0
 They actually look decent...
  • 4 1
MSRP is $19.99, but they're $25.99 on RF's website, seems reasonable.
  • 2 0
Is that $25.99 in USD or CDN ?
  • 4 0
Hi max, the grips are $25.99 CAD / $19.99 USD. There may be an issue with pricing streams on www.shoprfe.com pulling the Canadian pricing by accident. We're working on fixing it now.
  • 3 0
@dlford @maxyedor : Pricing should be updated and showing properly now.

@raceface: Cool, I might pick up a pair at my LBS once the snow melts.
  • 2 0
The title made me hope that it was going to be announcing a remake of the old video you got free with MBUK in the late 90s
  • 1 0
They look too smooth. Need a bit more aggressive texture. I feel like they'd be really slick in the wet or with sweaty hands.
  • 5 0
 that's what she said
  • 2 0
I swore I read it as "Greta Grip". Thought this would be some sort of super green grip.
  • 2 0
Grips has become what matchbooks were for hotels.
  • 2 0
I hope they keep using tiny hardware.
  • 2 1
What do they mean by "tapered inner core to prevent twisting" - don't all lock-on grips prevent twisting?
  • 3 0
These types of grips, since they're a single-sided lock-on vs dual sided... the core that normally easily or loosely slides onto your bars with a dual lock grip... is tapered narrower towards the non-lock-on side of these grips so that it more tightly grips the bar in order to prevent twisting during hard use since there is no lock, on that end.
  • 2 0
@islandforlife: Exactly! Thanks for jumping in to explain. Does that explanation make sense @PHeller ?
  • 1 0
Will there be a way of selecting the grip/lock ring combo?
  • 1 0
Unfortunately at this time we don't have that kind of customization. It's something we're working towards in the future though so stay tuned!
  • 1 0
 @raceface: Thanks for the info!
