Things look absolutely wild on the new track. We are guaranteed some great racing and we sincerely hope all the riders make it through the weekend all right.
Sorry for the non-french speaking fellows, and you miss some pearls, but the spirit is good, extra good. Mostly, Daprela speaking with his cut tongue and broken nose saying "what did you think? when you have to do it, you just do it! today don't except anything special, but tomorrow..." Special healing vibe to Amaury BTW
Is there a B-line around that creek/river gap? If not, there's going to be a lot of DNFs. This course is insane and if it stays dry, its going to be incredible.
@baileygs: There's gonna be a huge time penalty for that ride around. As it is they can barely turn enough to line up the gap at speed, let alone go even farther to the left...
How about Marine Cabirou? Just watched Bernard Kerr's video and it sounds like she hurt herself pretty bad on the road gap.... does anyone (Pinkbike) know more?
Got to be a really hard course that makes pros look like your average weekend warrior. Hope we don’t get a string of injuries. Loose fresh cut and slippery stuff leading into massive gaps and step downs. Looks like a recipe for bad juju
For his own safety I hope he isn’t racing without having had the necessary concussion checks. He broke his nose and almost chewed his tongue in half. Fingers crossed
Didn't we just talked about riders getting injured because the tracks have become too dangerous? And here we are getting hyped on the giant gaps. We are part of the problem.
Apparently not. They developed the Range on the basis of this dh platform, but it has been said that there are differences between the frames. I couldn´t find any more info on it so far though.
Apparently it's the range frame with different dropouts and linkage to give it more travel and the kinematics for DH. I imagine if testing goes well they will stop making the aurum and sell a range DH and a conversion kit for current range owners. I expect to see a lot more of this, GT seem to be doing something similar too. DH bike sales are very low, so developing and enduro bike that you can swap some parts on and make into a 200mm travel downhill bikes makes a lot of sense for bike manufacturers, saves on a lot of cost of developing a DH bike that probably doesn't cover the cost of development.
@gmcc: he says that on every post probably talking about his shitty haircut that doesn't give him any chance sexually speaking in his shitty life... who knows except him?
@MattP76 When you’re hanging over the back of the bike for 30% of a run, a 650b rear wheel actually makes about 13mm difference of ballsack to tire clearance.
