Practice got underway quite early today while the altitude is still catching everyone off guard. 10,000' feet up and racing down about 1800'. The World Cup course has been altered a bit, adding some catch berms and missing a few rocks to keep the speeds and sketchiness on par!

what a weird track to race !

you just summarized DH racing in the US

What's weirder is angel fire has legit "real" DH tracks. I'm pretty sure USA Cycling total binds their hands and feet when trying to make a track. I mean there's 2000 feet if descent and USAC still demands the track has to be 3-4 mind long. It's ridiculous.

1990 called - they want their "DH" track back...

Makes the Windham WC track look super technical...

The rock gardens on world cup are not easy at all to carry good speed on. I'm guessing you've never been to Angelfire.

Yea this video does not do it justice, those rock gardens are no walk in the park.

It may not be steep but its insanely fast and pretty technical, not the best AF has to offer but still a good track.

the lady at the end "This might be, actually, pretty cool, except for the dirt..."

Probably still converting. Angelfire wifi is slower than downhill uphill

i was hoping that was the case.. but it still shows up as 480 a day later. no worries then. keep up the great work man. always enjoy your coverage...

Will be there in one week. Angel Fire is fun. The lift goes from 8,600 to 10,600 ft. Since Angel Fire is on private land, the trail builders have a great deal of freedom. The DH track is pretty much straight forward but some of the other trails can take awhile to complete. The altitude gives you a good workout.

The place is way more gnarly than the video shows.

I did 27 laps in 12 hrs at a red bull event there once , trust me that course is not flat or easy.

this track looks so much fun

Angel Fire has way better, steeper courses. The thing is, they do this race every year, so they mix it up.

The course check on Team Robot was done by someone on a trail bike. Locked out. For a national race. Where did Gwin come from?!

First of all modern trail bikes are incredibly capable, second of all this course is no walk in the park. Really Fast, lengthy and really technical in some parts. Did I mention your also riding at about 10,000 ft? Video does not do this course justice. I would love to see you try to race it.

Were you the guy riding the red bike with the camera pack? if so youre a jackass.

Awesome course I wish there were more flowy race trails like this!
