Practice got underway quite early today while the altitude is still catching everyone off guard. 10,000' feet up and racing down about 1800'. The World Cup course has been altered a bit, adding some catch berms and missing a few rocks to keep the speeds and sketchiness on par!
What's weirder is angel fire has legit "real" DH tracks. I'm pretty sure USA Cycling total binds their hands and feet when trying to make a track. I mean there's 2000 feet if descent and USAC still demands the track has to be 3-4 mind long. It's ridiculous.
Will be there in one week. Angel Fire is fun. The lift goes from 8,600 to 10,600 ft. Since Angel Fire is on private land, the trail builders have a great deal of freedom. The DH track is pretty much straight forward but some of the other trails can take awhile to complete. The altitude gives you a good workout.
First of all modern trail bikes are incredibly capable, second of all this course is no walk in the park. Really Fast, lengthy and really technical in some parts. Did I mention your also riding at about 10,000 ft? Video does not do this course justice. I would love to see you try to race it.
Makes the Windham WC track look super technical...
Oh sorry bicycles were ridden there, I guess I went off topic. No Team Robot intervew no care
