I gotta agree either the riders haven't figured out the open loop to integrate some crazy moves that makes it worth having in a run or its just impossible to do anything but a back flip or alley hoop. I'd rather see another standard jump where they can squeeze in another major trick or for example in this case no Whale Tail!!!
Call this a freaking HIGHLIGHT video? If so, this is the worst highlight video I've ever seen. Should have just called it District Ride top 3 runs. Because I didn't see a single clip of anyone else, and I know for a fact every single rider had at least one thing that was a banger and deserved to be in the video? Who makes this shit?
If they keep showing up in events, riders will build there own and learn how to trick them. Most guys never ride one until practice 2-3 days (if not less) before the comp, but if they rode one all winter I bet they would be throwing down. And I think it would be worth it to stick it out if in two years we were seeing, tuck no handers, bar spins, tail whips and who knows what else on the open loop.
IMO if there is less than like 5 trick variations being pulled on a feature, it doesn't belong in the FMB courses... The goal is to inspire creativity, not force the riders into something that clearly everybody is going to pull the same trick on.
i think the open loops are cool and more tricks will be pulled as the sport progresses. As a BMX rider i can think of heaps of stuff that can be pulled on that. mtb riders will get it eventually. how is the sport going to progress without a range of new and different obstacles.
I like the open loops. f*ck some of you narrow minded dorks have no vision. MacDuff already started moving things along in Project Breathe Easy, which if any of you haven't bought you should either do so now or get the f*ck off PinkBike & shoot yourself 'cuz you don't belong here. FMB is as great as it is because of all the versatility. It's just another thing we can do. Thus we should.
none of us are narrow minded dorks who are gonna shoot ourselves and get off pinkbike, seriously your a real idiot for taking some peoples opinion and telling them to shoot themselves and get off pinkbike cause you disagree with it. I think you should get off pink bike and burn your computer
Lets not go jumping to assumptions. I understood FEST's post as a comment on Semenuk, not a comment on FMB
Kidding aside, the start drop and last hit where some meaty jumps to be throwing double flips and triple whips on. Respect where it is due to both sets of riders. Let Rampage decide who the badass dudes really are
The Fest, seriously come on. Stop hating. I dont do much XC riding any more but that video of the worlds where the top two wipe out on the last turn is honestly intense. So you guys calling diamond FMB events cute is kinda redonkulous. Not as big as the stuff Fest is doing but pretty gash darn nutty. Stop hating.
Agree @Massini64 - fest is great and all, but the hate only creates further disrespect. I don't see anyone in the fest events doing 720 barspins, or backflip barspins to can... Call it cute all you like, but you're openly disregarding a contest with 60000+ spectators and huge industry support, which your livelihood relies upon.
One thing that really winds me up about PB is that you can't even make a joke without some prick accusing you of being a 'hater'. I believe the FEST's comment to be a joke, and a pretty funny one at that. Who the hell calls someone a hater anyway? It's just some American bullshit term that makes you sound like a retard.
The thing is that the fest guys have a history of openly bashing the FMB and other comps/riders. They've often used unnecessary and inflammatory language, and have been generally disrespectful. They should realize that their continued disrespect is losing them fans (while I acknowledge that it may also be gaining them others of a different attitude).
His triple on the short jump is in the video. He later went back up after crashing, after the competition was run and pulled the triple whip over the big gap while Brandon was getting interviewed by Richie Schley.
They should have gotten a big ol' roll of tape for Ryan Meyer's mouth half way thru the broadcast! Big ol' back flip, big ol' tailwhip, big ol' three sixty, big ol' turd!
Rheeder is really gunning to take down semenuk but brandon just keeps hopping up a step. That 720 bar was mental. Have to admit tho that rogatkins run was one of the best slopestyle runs I have ever seen up until he unfortunately failed to pull the tripple whip.
I think this event was rockin it! Very new to what we are used to see with that funny lookin open loop or what do you wanna call it. And i really think the scoring system was cool, fun to see and compare what the riders where doing in each part of the course.
Nicholi Rogatkin was in the lead before the last jump, than he crashed and now they don't show his mindblowing run in the highlight video - what a shame, this kid threw down insane tricks and a clean run, just one mistake, which cost him the win...
Rogatkin was not in the lead prior to the final jump... Even if he landed his triple whip and got a perfect score the best he could have gotten was 3rd.
Btw. it was a great show, Semenuks and Rheeders runs were just on the other level, good to see so much progress even they are on top of the game, I really loved it, but I can;t understand two things, why nobody have been pulling some massive tricks on the last feature, and why the hell Godzieks double flip wasn't scored higher? I know he did it on the smaller jump, but it's still a double flip!! One more thing, about Rogatkin, this kid has big bag of tricks, but he still should have penalty score for this ugly no-visor helmet, even if he pulls the best run ever it still looks terrible with this thing on his head, he should change it and gain some style.
