Video: Reece Wilson Pushes the Limit on a Greasy Day

PRESS RELEASE: CushCore

Without racing, even Pros had to return to the roots of riding, like a slimy, wet day on a local track. Watch Trek Factory Racing’s Reece Wilson ditch the downhill bike for a trail bike and push the absolute limit with a smile smeared across his face. Reece shows just what his local trails can take aboard a Trek Fuel EX and a fresh set of CushCore. CushCore allows Reece to ride to his peak by squeezing every last bit of performance out of his tires and suspension.

Go bigger with our industry leading impact absorption. Approach corners with blinding speed knowing your tires are 35% more stable - providing predictable cornering and virtually eliminating tire burp. Just plain ride faster - with a 12% reduction of shock and vibration, increased traction and control, you’ll stay fresh and ready for another lap.

Top level athletes may be pushing to a level we all dream to attain, but just like the Pros, we’re all searching for the confidence to elevate our riding to the next level.

They (cushcore) mentioned on a post last night om IG - it was total co-incidence and this was filmed a while back and ready to launch today anyway, however what a sponsors dream!

That’s pretty cool if that’s true Smile

Hope he can kick on after that amazing win.
So nice to see two winners so absolutely loving their win. No arrogance just pure emotion and elation.

@Molesdigmyjumps: it is true. We filmed this in August, and launching it today was actually by complete chance. Today was almost a month later than originally planned!

Trail bike or enduro? Oh god I'm confused. My enduro doesn't go like that!

I realize this is an ad for cush core, but I find it ironic that he's riding a trail-bike with a power meter, no knee-pads, and he pedals 0 times in the entire video. Really impressive riding.

I didn't know TENET was selling the license to their soundtrack? I was half expecting him to start riding backwards up the hill at the end...

That boy is flying! Looked like hero dirt, but damn he needs some knee pads.
  • 5 2

Interested to see what size bike he's on in this video and how tall he is. It looks kinda middling and certainly not stretched out enduro style.

Congratulations to Reece, I had the privilege of watching him session fort bill a few weeks ago and wow so much natural talent and what a humble guy Smile

You know that conditions in Leogang must have been horrific when Scotland looks dry by comparison.

I did not see in the comments but what pressure was he running? I run Vittoria air liners and they are the jam.

Oh, and Congrats to this fella! Well deserved from that run DH run!!!

Love those 2nd base corners! Hats off to the builders
  • 3 0
Anyone know the name of the trail at 2.55 ish, with the minty berms ?
  • 3 0
2nd base on the golfie side, near liver damage at the top of the water world climb, starts lovely like that then turns into a series of big drops into scary steep chutes. It's properly hardcore!
  • 1 0
@pbuser2299: Thanks, sounds a bit too scary for me.
  • 2 0
That’s not greasy; that’s grippy, hero dirt! Now, Leogang; that’s grease!
  • 4 0
 amazing bike control.
  • 3 0
Yea yea, but can he ride real slop?
  • 1 0
Does anyone use Cush core and is it worth it for DH mtb? Is the setup only for tubeless or can I run rubes? I need a How To cushcore video.

I've never seen anyone ride those trails SO quickly!

Is that twisty bermed section at 2.45 Flat White at the Golfie?
  • 2 0
 No it's 2nd Base!

if you know what that guy just delivered, then this is the complete opposite of a mcdonald's commercial.

Came here for the race run, but that edit was pretty sweet.
  • 1 0
After watching the world chaps in leogang, this doesn't look like mud, more like dry perfect conditions.
  • 1 0
Wow, he looks really fast in the wet, I bet he'd do really well if there was a muddy worlds race.
  • 1 0
Still good ole pool noodles for me.

 How appropriate.

 @nhlevi:
They likely released this a day of two ahead of schedule... who can blame them? The guy is on fire.
  • 11 0
@notthatfast: it's actually 2 weeks later than planned. Perfect timing! Smile
  • 5 1
the same a racer takes quick advantage of his wage
  • 1 1
@jackheat tell that to Fabian Barell...
  • 3 6
Am i the only person still running 40psi? I hate the feeling of a sidewall rolling over in a turn, is it something you just get used too?
  • 6 0
Unless you are still on 26, then yes. Larger volume tires like a 29x2.4 feel like 40 psi at 30. Love the cush core! Really does enhance suspension.
  • 1 0
30mm internal rim width and 29x2.5 tires. It's been a game changer for me this year! I weight 180, run 26 psi front, 28 psi rear on my hardtail. With cushcore I could run them even lower but I'm too lazy to install them.
  • 2 0
I hear that, I'm sick in my mouth if the rear sidewall rolls. 30 and up at the rear on 650 2.35 schwalbe fixes it
