Video: Remy Metailler Follows Fabien Cousinie Down Squamish's Best Jump Trail

Nov 28, 2019
by Rémy Métailler

This time we are in Squamish, with my French buddy Fabien Cousinie, who recently moved to Squamish. Hot Tuna, Slippery Salmon, and Man Boobs are some of Fabien's favourite trails.

Fabien has raced World Cups for a number of years, as well as Enduro World Series, and Dual Slalom, but he is now the team owner of the Polygon World Cup Team, and has different other projects on the go such as Bike Travel Destination.

We rode three trails in Squamish and the first two that were built by Curtis Bennett run amazing.

Excuse the low light. This is Squamish in the fall. It’s dark and things can get a bit shaky, especially at this speed!

If you enjoyed this trail and want to ride it, I advise you to join the Squamish Off Road Cycling Association: sorca.ca this way you will be able to support trails like this one!

Thanks a lot to the trail builders for the work! What trail should I ride next?

Thanks for watching, see you on the trails or on Youtube

The only way that could have been more frenchy would have been to serve croissants at every trail merge

Hum... better off a glass of red wine + a slice of baguette with a thick layer of blue cheese and a walnut. Matches better with that gnarly terrain Wink

@softsteel: La vache qui rit is my staple drive through France go to Smile

@pigman65: La vache qui rit is actually a Quebec product.
  • 2 0
@1llumA: Mais non, mon ami. Probably licensed locally to a Quebec manufacturer, but a French product.

@1llumA: La Vache qui rit a Quebec product? Since when??!!! No, it`s unfortunately french.

But La Vache qui Braille is from Quebec, and she`s called Celine Dion ;-)

@pigman65: Come on, you ONLY eat La Vache qui Rit when you come to France? Blasphemy!!! ;-)
You don`t like blue cheeses? I appreciate the Stilton from UK, it`s pretty good... when it`s well matured though...
Cheers... and Cheese!!! Smile

@softsteel: you will have to try the Cornish brie sometime, I watched a program and it was voted better than French brie, and it was a frenchy doing the voting

@mark3: well, the Brie is certainly the most tasteless cheese we have in France, and people who don`t like tasty cheeses generally like the Brie. Even the Brie of Meaux, the most reputated, is kind of boring, unless it`s very matured and old. The Cornish Brie has his chances ;-)
Beside this, I find the old cheddars particularly delicious!

And Man Boobs was built by Jim Harvey! Among many many others.

I really like the concept of Rémy's channel but the shaky and low video quality is putting me off. Are Gopros that bad?

Not all his vids are like this, he must of had steady cam turned off on accident. I thought the same thing.

@twhart20: i don't know, i have seen a few with the same blurry/shaky high speed moments
  • 3 0
@Happymtbfr: Interesting. Yes it's shaky because of the super low light mostly. It is filmed in 4k though, so the quality should be good.

It doesn’t make any sense. How can Fabian ride like that while wearing a backpack? He would be so much better if he was wearing a FANNY PACK!

Surtout vu comme vous vous chambrez! ^^

Good edit once again, despite the video quality, but it would have been much smarter and fair to make it in french with subtitles. It`s so f*king irritating like this.

Thanks Couscous for bringing a good dose of sense of humor, for once...

@softsteel: Pour une fois comme tu dis... Love the irony of Remy calling him an arrogant Frenchman.
