Video: Remy Metailler Follows Geoff Gulevich Down a North Shore Classic

Mar 12, 2021
by Rémy Métailler

What a better guide for a classic North Shore trail than Geoff Gulevich AKA Gully.

We chose a beautiful day, but still a bit cold and icy. Lower down the conditions were pretty great and that made a fun day. It was my first day on these trails, and I will definitely be back. Riding behind Gully was a great way to learn the quick lines!

I did enjoy Remi's complete refusal to ever pedal uphill

Refreshing to see Gully riding a real mtb, no an electric...

 And on the Occam!

The trail bike that climbs too well and lags behind it's peers on the dh (as evidenced here).

 Geoff's video - 1000 views Remy's video - 23,000 views I fee like 22000 of you are missing out....

Absolutely they are! @Gulevich87 has been uploading more frequently to his Youtube channel as of late.

So interesting how we get accustomed to a certain terrain. Remi hits way gnarlier, high-risk stuff on his home trails, but you could tell he was out of his comfort zone for a bit on these trails (the ice didn't help), but he'd gotten used to it by the end of the video.

I've ridden those trails numerous times, but Gully's lines were ridiculous. You know when Remi lets out a "holy s#**" it's pucker time.

That route is a great mix of different downhill stuff on the Shore, one of my favourites. Nice to see some creativity in the lines which I will be sure to try out. Fun Video.

Creativity is shunned on the shore. Those lines will be shut down by the time you get there.

At 00:33 you can see rear brake rotor installed backwards: mistake or function?

Good eye, normally you'll be using a 7 to 8inch adaptor, but I had ran out, so we made it work and to be fair it's been perfect so I have not bother changing it back.
