Full face, neck brace and no knee pads for ultra steeze

His logic makes sense, if you're going that fast knee pads won't help ya
  • 37 2
@kbakes: agreed, he's basically saying "I'm willing to gash up my knees, for steeze, and maybe even break my patella. But I'll draw the line at head and spinal injuries".
  • 34 2
@jaytdubs: I mean after that Fest crash he had I think he might have priorities lol
  • 17 2
"I don't wear pads I only wear a neck brace"
  • 3 3
@cmcguire24 @reindeln No gloves to complete the look.

Great video, but man, what's with the kneepad thing? Knee pads will absolutely help protect your knees. While Remy is a beast and may never need them, any kid trying to learn to push his limits is going to feel pressure to look cool while out riding with his friends. And, like it or not, these kinds of videos help define what's cool in the sport.

Wear. f*cking. Kneepads.

The jorts def makes him faster. What a come back!
  • 1 1
 @jaytdubs: seems like solid priorities!
  • 10 3
@jayacheess: he says that when he puts knee or elbow pads on he is sub consciously setting up to fail.
  • 10 0
@jayacheess: I don't think you have to worry too much about that. Just about everyone I come across is wearing knee pads on anything even kind of gnarly. Full face helmets and elbow pads not so much. I was in the rarely full face, never elbows camp until I broke my elbow badly on a rock while luckily wearing my FF. Now I have a Bell super DH and wear my elbows on everything except my local loop. Helps that my rides are pedal up and ride down though because I just carry everything up.

 Save the head only... Haha
  • 4 1
You know when your bumhole puckers? My kneecaps are doing that watching this.

 Next step, brakeless pls!

 [Kiwi accent] So SUK!
  • 1 0
 @jammf: Skux as, bro
  • 58 10
 That was epic - 9.5/10

Would have been 10/10, but I had to deduct a point for the 1970's NBA socks. I'm not an unreasonable bloke, so I gave back half a point for the camera man's 1970's porn fro and 'stache.

When was it decided that white socks are a faux pas? I must have missed it in the last 13 years of riding

@me2menow: you don't need to be a V.I.P. at fashion week to be able to see the socks look goofy.
  • 35 0
When you're that good you can wear whatever socks you want
  • 3 2
White socks are now officially a thing
  • 21 3
Idk, I think white socks look pretty sick. Definite 80's skater vibe with the Vans lol
  • 2 0
If he had some Birkenstock’s on he’s fit right in with my kind
  • 5 0
ya'll are focused on the wrong details. Remy has the sickest style, and an amazing attitude. I never even noticed the socks...
  • 34 0
Absolutely rad, perhaps the best riding vid I've seen in a while. You know it's gonna be good when it starts with free wheel bench slide.
  • 34 1
never has casing landings been so stylish
  • 2 0
Moto case/body jar. Rem Dawg makes it look so sick

To anyone and everyone bitching about knee pads, white socks and editing: bloke almost died and been in a coma for a month or something. Rehab for almost a year. He's had time to re-evaluate his preferences and choices and I'm sure he knows what he's doing and why. Instead, take a minute or two to appreciate how f*cking rad his riding is.
  • 19 0
That was incredible. Love the meta transition into the BTS piece too...super creative. Awesome work!
  • 2 0
So smooth and such a beautiful music spilling from those tires!
  • 19 0
 Freehub body grind....that's a first.
  • 12 2
The XT hub I just got must have come with a lot of thick grease inside, because over 10mph it goes completely silent. And I LOVE it. When all you hear is your tire's interaction with the dirt, it's hard to go back to that annoying super loud buzz. I hope silent freehubs are the future.
  • 7 0
Or they accidentally gave you a prototype Scylence hub. That was the one thing I most wanted from Shimano when they released the XTR 12-speed.
  • 3 0
Haters will hate... but... silent hubs for EVER!!! for me nothing detracts from the pure magic of being out there lost in the moment more than the annoying whirring of a freehub...
It's funny you should mentioned the XT... spent most of the summer riding on a project bike specced with a 10+years old XT rear hub(no service-no nothing... completely silent) ... now I can't go back to the E13 laced on my main steed... ????
  • 1 1
@SyKon: The loud hubs are a status symbol for many. But I would prefer silent so I can hear my bike engaging with the trail. Unfortunately, the only real option right now is Onyx hubs. Not only are they expensive but I’ve seen very mixed reviews.
  • 14 0
This is how I ride in my head.
  • 10 0
Appreciate the pinpoint line choice and sets ups for corners to hold speed. Not nearly enough of this in bikepark edits. The best content.
  • 11 0
Did Remy come straight from a game of tennis or something?
  • 1 1
 Rugby bru!
  • 6 0
Title is wrong. Shouldn't be "Must Watch", it should be "Must Listen"

If we had gearboxes and single speed chains/belts, all of our rides would sound like this. Of course with a gearbox you need a 0 engagement hub, which would also be silent.
  • 12 0
 Onyx Hubs, would recommend
  • 1 0
The Joker: “I just like the sound of it”.
  • 8 0
OMFG this rules! Miss me with the baggy fits and loud ass hubs!
  • 9 1
 No annoying hub sounds... amazing.
  • 4 0
 Onyx!
  • 7 0
His commitment to the clips is as awesome as the riding!
  • 7 0
Also riding without brakes it seems! Nice!
  • 4 0
Insane commitment in this, well done Remy and everyone else involved! I cannot believe the amount of shots compiled here... seemed like every clip could have been the "banger" in normal edits! So well done
  • 8 4
Checking flights to NZ, visiting Commencal’s homepage and checking out their DH range while drinking a can of red bull. Well done guys! Raw edits are the best!
  • 5 0
Now I really want a completely silent freehub.
  • 4 0
Onyx! But then you'd have to pedal...
  • 4 0
@zachyc: all freehubs are silent when ya pedal......
  • 4 0
Great track, cool sound. Now do it with no brakes. Then try with no wheels maybe.
  • 6 0
 Rad!
  • 3 0
Greg Hill tucks Big Grin Especially the second one where he knives into that corner of the landing
  • 3 0
Deeeaaaaammmmnnnn! and That is how a bike should sound and suspension to function. Silent and optimized.
  • 4 0
I don't always ASMR... but when I do... it's to the Sound of Speed.
  • 1 0
Total ASMR this is. Hits various nice buttons.
  • 2 0
Special anti-abrasion freehub body coating...compatible with Shimano HG cassettes and picnic tables. Very cool!
  • 1 0
The only thing that would have made this better is if he was wearing a pair of Addidas/Nike Slides.

It's like he just crawled off the couch and went for a rip.
  • 3 0
Raw edits. So hot right now.
  • 3 0
 Kneepad companies hate him
  • 2 0
Shouldn't this be, Remy Morton Goes BRAKELESS in his Sound of Speed. Rippin!
  • 3 0
Sky’s out, thighs out! I guess...
  • 3 0

  • 2 0
"if I'm 100% in control, I'm not going fast enough", true shit
  • 1 0
That was killer, but tbh, I was hoping to see him wiggle pump a flat section or two
  • 2 0
Every pro’s now searching for a tube sock sponsor
  • 1 0
Are all socks not tube socks?
  • 1 0
So good!! when are we gonna have belt driven bikes that are gonna be that quiet when riding!?
  • 1 0
Showing very little regard for rims, knees or what you think about his socks.
  • 1 0
So Impressive ! Had Remy Morton ride at the Wynyard on the new Dream Line ?
  • 1 0
Beautiful,so many highlights but I especially love the huck over the hip at the end of Huck Yeah.
  • 3 3
Yeah, since you only do simple tricks today, let’s leave the kneepad at home.
  • 1 0
I had those same socks in 1981.
  • 1 0
Soooooo sick.. Pure Rem Dawg style!!!
  • 1 0
Sick video but the sound balance is not okay
  • 1 0
How it's done. No knee pads though.... Gnarly
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
That was dope. Love the BTS mixed in.
  • 1 0
His riding is like the chase hawk of mountain biking.
  • 1 0
Is there any better feeling than jumping into a berm?
  • 1 0
 Pure mtb ASMR right there.
  • 1 0
Im getting accustomed with the D4 now.
  • 1 0
Love that squirrel on the bike sound. Makes it even more real!
