Carved into Welsh Hillside in the South Wales valleys you'll find some of the best hand built mountain bike tracks in the U.K. The trails are maintained by a crew of dedicated trail builders determined to continue the work and legacy of our fellow builder and founder Ryan Bullimore #RideforRyan
If I was leader every village , town and city with a hill would be mandated so kids can build bike parks like this . The benefits to the community would be seen instantly !
Only been there once, but never been some where that has such a feeling of community as this place !
They have a full on army on dig days, loads of banter, loads of dirt moved!
My boy Jez been riding there since 2018, everyone there is friendly and helpful and gives you the welcome. They have a great team of trail builders and everyone mucks in. Jason, Ryan’s Dad have worked so hard there, you find him there most days and always on a Saturday & Sunday. Jason is the man behind the dream and continues to work so hard for all the riders to have a place to ride. Jason feeds the birds there every day,, he’s like the pigeon lady off home alone, he looks after the environment, you won’t see an old plastic bottle dumped on his watch. This track was a dream of Ryan & Jason and after all what jason have gone through he still continues to keep the dream alive for Ryan and at the same time given all the local riders a place to go on the weekend.
A massive Thank You Jason for working so hard for all the rides to have such a brilliant place to go.
What a beautiful dream and vision that guy had ,and to see that people got the job done it is absolutely extraordinary,we need more of this ,and the video it’s well done also congratulations, and what song is that ?good job to all and yes ride on
On a night ride, freezing cold, one of the riders I was with , crashed and suffered a serious leg fracture, at the park. Ryan immediately offerd his assistance, even though he was only young, and we loaded the casualty into his wheelbarrow! As the rider was a fair old lump, he then broke the barrow too... We eventually got him(carried) to the bottom, and an ambulance. Ryan , helped by his dad, took the guys bike home, cleaned it, and returned it to him...damn fine man and an example to us all
Ryan was a legend, all around nice guy, saved my arse many a time on a night out in weatherspoons taking my beers off me the bastard but the lad took me like many others under his wing, racing today wouldn’t be the same for me if it wasn’t for him or his family to be honest I probably wouldn’t be doing it, haha I remember at the top of one of the races, he turned to me and said, you go first down behind the girls don’t you al! (Being that it’s usually slowest in category first and he always beat me) and then they called his number out instead of mine it may not seem much but it was just something that has stuck with me and will for a long time
I Watched him grow from a boy to a man on that hill. The pride he took from the fact people wanted to ride what him and the lads where creating gave him such a buzz. Dream Big guys change the world.
Hope to visit in the spring!
