She actually used to ride mountain bikes as well (maybe still does) but I got to go for a ride with her many years ago when she was at a bike shop test weekend /mini bike festival type of thing that was being held in the Surrey Hills. Good times.
I was always more of a Rhino/Hunter kinda guy. For moving furniture and things like that. Big strapping guys. I'd make them cold drinks and just watch them re arrange my lounge. Nothing kinky.
The "long travel" and "downhill" definition back then. But other than the crap suspension, just think about those tires. You wouldn´t fit them to the bike of your worst enemy.
I'm 44 now and watching Rob reminds me my first mtb attempts. Was so fun doing first drops on little 14" frame (I'm 6.1" ). But despite this I much prefer my current enduro bike and prepared enduro trails. I just regrate I was born to early .
I'm over 50 and been mtbing for the last 5 years. I wasn't born to early as I would most likely be dead in a bike park. My 4 year old son is pretty much the only thing that keeps me in check when I drop in a gnarly trail ( at least in my perception of gnarly).
@crazyfrenchy: Well, I know this pretty well. When I took my older one (14) on dirt jumps,in the first day he was jumping much better than me . Higher, further and with better style . That's age. One day they will find same feeling with our grandsons for sure .
This reminds me of the movie 'Chainspotting' which featured a young Rob Warner shredding mtb and hitting dirt jumps with long hair and no helmet. It was great.
@Sscottt: Yes, Yes, Probably. Add to that: domestic abuse, blackmail plots and that fact that some of the Gladiators were drunk during filming it’s a wonder it aired so for so long.
Love that one and tonight matthew im going to be rob warner yes i kniw its a diffrent game show as this was you bet but hell we all love a warner moment just look at that hair lol
@jaame: It was in the clip, yeah although I don't remember him presenting it, only Matthew Kelly but obviously he did. Obviously the memories have faded over all those years lol
Ha! this is awesome. MTV Sports where they'd show the sport but no context other than "isn't this rad/cool/extreme"? Either way, mtb wouldn't be where it is today without bits like this.
no, the hope brake wasnt fitted, this is the same bike as the famous JMC ashes picture where he has a Hope disk and wheel but running a Magura up front
There was a guy on FB claiming to be selling this bike but it was likely one of the other 4 team bikes (Titley / Peat / Mortimer)
Yes, he's on Giant this year. There is a video clip on his 'gram and you can make out the "ANT" on the head tube, which just so happens to be painted the exact same as a Giant Reign-E...

I wonder if rob still has the medal and that really tight asparagus suit
I'm sure Rob is blushing!
