bigquotesWe are back, the sun is shining, spectators on course and we’re ready for a great day. Take a closer look into race day for the second Enduro World Cup pf the year in Derby, Tas. Things are starting to come back together for Jack here and we are on the build up back to where he was. The progression from last weekend is amazing and the whole team couldn’t be happier to be where we are right now. Watch along for a detailed experience of the day! Thanks to the YT Mob for the hard work the last couple weeks! Jack Moir

bigquotesRound two of the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup in Derby was one for the history books.

The Tasmanian crowds turned out in force to see the world's best throw down on Derby's iconic rock slabs in some absolutely wild conditions.

Charlie Murray Stage 6 POV

bigquotesThis was the toughest stage (Stage 6 - Kumma Gutza) for me today at the second round of the Enduro World Cup here in Derby Tasmania. Such a fun day out riding bikes, super physical but the stages were good and the rock features were impressive. Thanks, Derby for having us and the trail builders for getting this stage fixed last night!!

I finished up in 8th on this stage and 7th overall. A good day out.

bigquotesRound 2: Derby, Tasmania - The commute from Maydena to Derby was probably the most miserable one I've been faced with yet. Relentless rain, headwinds, undulating hills and a mechanical which led me to running an impromptu marathon to the nearest bike shop.

The streak of bad luck wasn't over yet as I struck a major mechanical at the top of stage 4 in practice, meaning I had to miss out on practicing the rest of stage 4 and all of 5 and 6.
The race went relatively smoothly, but with the most physical stages I've ever raced my body just didn't have much in it to push from the start, that mixed with riding half the course blind meant I was slowly being pushed further back.
I finished up 16th Overall U21 with a best stage result of 8th. Something I really can't complain with for what felt like an off day!

bigquotesJoin Josh Carlson as he takes you onboard a VERY wet course preview of round two of the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup - Derby, Tasmania

The sun is shining today and the tracks are drying out leading to ever-changing conditions.

Jack Moir: Practice

bigquotesIf you thought shakedown day was a mudder, practice today was next level. With rain starting right as practice did and getting worse throughout the day it was cold and wet and muddy. The boys had plenty of fun out there getting to grips with how the trails were holding up in the mud and the granite was extremely grippy. We had lots of fun and can’t wait for racing to get underway! Jack Moir

Jesse Melamed: Practice

bigquotesThe rain has arrived. It was long, sloppy day out on the bikes for practice today. 7 hours out in the rain and pedalling through mud. Good thing the tracks hold up to the water well here! Jesse Melamed

Practice Highlights

bigquotesRAW action from practice day of the Derby UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup. 42.5km, six stages, and 1444m of descent lie ahead of the riders this Saturday!

The rain has well and truly come down spicing up the technical bedrock features littered across the course, linking up these sections smoothly is going to be essential to getting on top on race day, but who will take the win on Saturday?

Squids on Tour Course Preview

bigquotesSquids On Tour - Wet and wild down under.

After an awesome beginning of what is a new era of enduro racing last week in Maydena, Round Two of the Enduro World Cup is taking place a few hours up the road in Derby.

We join Sven Martin for a course preview in conditions that could not be further from the dry and dusty Bikepark terrain of Maydena.

The riders will be up against the elements this weekend and the slippery slabs of Derby will most probably be the race deciding features.

Jack Moir: Day 1

bigquotesIt’s our first day in Derby! I’l tell you what, it was an absolute mudder out there! Was good to get back on the bike and spin the legs ahead of another huge week. It was moist out there and we had some technical dramas (aka Staggsy rippin the tyres of the eeb, what a rookie). Jack Moir

At least we have moi moi tv being released quickly. The UCI videos take way too long to drop. I stop caring by the time they do. Where is the live race coverage??
  • 4 3
They have clearly said no live coverage this year and just doing highlights for enduro. Live coverage for dh and including jr dh as well.

It's definitely not live coverage, but the recap is coming out much faster than last year and it does provide some decent camera footage mixed with a few POV. So it's getting better at least. It would be nice to have some U21 coverage though. Maybe in a separate video.

Several of those stages look awesome to ride. To race? Not so much.

The fastest line through those massive boulders seems to be on the left. The center has that drop that seems like it is slowing the riders down a bit. Any thoughts?
