The conclusion to season 2 of Haro MTB's Basecamp Chronicles, Ryan Nyquist spends his last few days developing his run at Whistler, having fun with fellow Red Bull Joyride athletes, and even making a last minute bike change. Ryan gives his final thoughts on his competition runs and what he looks forward to next.
So glad he was able to transition over to MTB and put on a show for the last few seasons. Always looked forward to his runs and what impressive runs they were, especially for a guy in his late 30's. I just realized it was about 20 years ago that I bought his green Haro Backtrail frame when I got back into BMX. Damnit, I'm old!
Yooo I have a green haro backtrail as well! X3 and it still rides like it did 15 years ago, bad ass frames designed with the help of a legendary rider, nyquist
Dude just never gets negative. He must be the ultimate riding buddy.
Pinkbike, get together with Haro and Nyquist and sort out a weekend riding with this guy as a prize. Anyone would come out the other side of that stoked! He buys the beers though, obviously.
Nyquist is one of the people that started my love of bikes almost 20 years ago. Seeing Ryan learn, ride and succeed in mtb at this point has been awesome. Dude is a true role model and while everyone in mtb will miss him, no one deserves an olympic spot more than this guy for what hes given to bmx. Good luck, Ryan! No one will be rooting for you in Tokyo more than me.
So rad we got to see him on a MTB these last couple of years. Bummer we gotta give him back to BMX but it will be rad to see what he can do at the Olympics.
