Sheesh! I can't even throw that much roost on my motorcycle.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 11:28)
Can't even buy that much roost at KFC
(Feb 22, 2021 at 11:32)
: makes me wonder if a tire has ever been called a rooster. New Maxxis Rooster.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 12:09)
: Kenda made a tire called the Excavator. Seems like the name would fit this edit.

There should be more Blenkinsop riding videos.

what he did to that berm at the end is a war crime
(2 days ago)
I want to see him trying to ride away with all the clay packed in every nook and cranny of his bike.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 14:38)
Thats actually summer in NZ
(Feb 22, 2021 at 14:44)
Normally you'd be mostly correct but today's a bloody scorcher.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 15:08)
I'd love a ride that isn't just a dust bowl... seems to be the typical conditions these days
(Feb 22, 2021 at 17:45)
: ugh yeah dustbowl rides, totally dehydrate you even with 3 full size water bottles. Supposedly it's going to rain on Thursday.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 9:50)
no trails stay open when they are wet around here.. fucking sucks.
(Feb 22, 2021 at 12:27)
He's on the lower trails under the gondola in Queenstown, NZ. Queenstown MTB Club generally discourage riders from using the trails in the winter because it f***s them up so much, as is being shown in the video.
(Feb 23, 2021 at 5:49)
: rotate the trails, if given 1 season they will grow back to what they were before. I do understand the lack of man power to be able to accomplish this though.

Most of the trail in the video wasn't all that wet looking honestly (potentially jaded PNW rider here). Sure a few little puddles, and it was clearly wet/damp. But the trail surface didn't look soggy at all, and the mud didn't look like it was really clingy/etc. Honestly that looked like great riding conditions for most of it.
But that last berm was huge, sloppy muddy, and DESTROYED. Thats the sort of mud that can cause issues though. Looks sticky.
Also, I've been really liking my WTV Verdict this winter. A big improvement over the Vigilante in traction. The new shorty looks fairly similar, and I bet it would do great here as well. Maybe I'll give it a try next winter

Needs a disclaimer: Professional rider on a private track where no trails were harmed (or they were immediately repaired after the filming) in the video.
