@RadBartTaylor: I wish I could tell you that the weather is terrible, but it is not. Everybody is terrified with the "new life", but we did it great (if you read the news) and hope to go back to normal life reaaly soon.
@RadBartTaylor: I've watched Sam riding for a few decades now and you've pinpointed IMO why he's an all time great. There are other amazing riders, but nobody makes it look as easy as Sam does. His riding style and body positioning mirror his persona too.
Birds.... yeah, those birds ain't kookaburras that's for sure..... so yeah!.... Blokes born outa time, drops in from another time space reality dimension.
I've noticed that his fork seems to behave differently than other pros in videos as well, it seems like it's softer and goes through the travel more than other riders
1:43 he bottoms in slow mo just exiting a berm. Probably gives more traction in slow speed stuff. Seems terrifying for chunk but maybe he just jumps over everything lol. I wonder if there's a bike check out there that lists his pressures/tokens.
Really educational to watch Sam's eyes in this video. You can see him looking close while in the air to spot a landing. But then before landing, his eyes move back up to look further down the trail. I need to work on that.
My Mega290 doesn't go that fast. Think it must be broken. Even had the Sam Hill bars on it. It is a few years old though, maybe they made them faster now.
Still blows my mind (even though I know the science behind it) how parts of California and Australia look EXACTLY alike in foliage, and geology. If you didn't tell me this was in AUS I'd swear it'd be in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's in CA.
Yeah I thought they were silly until I rode in the southwest US, like Arizona, El Paso, that kind of stuff-lots of spiny plants that want to rip your knuckles apart make some handguards appealing.
So Sam is not riding MAVIC’s in this video isn’t he ?csuse the sound of the hub doesn’t seems to be MAVIC ,maybe hope or ........,I’m i wrong ?
@mtb-jon: He's just saying, ya know, in general. He could've said 'Life can be problematic, but fortunately Sam Hill can compensate with mountain biking.'
@mtb-jon: I`m not 100% sure, but I`m used to that.... This guy is over-gifted, no doubt about this, but I`ve noticed the way he behaves during interviews and such: it`s beyond shyness. He seems like both connected and somewhere else...His eyes and his behavior makes me think of that, but once again, I might be wrong ;-)
"No song, Sam Hills going RAW"
FYI - I am supposed to be in Greece right now on holiday
Is it me or does it sound like he runs really high tyre psi ?
The soundtrack is wonderful with this raw sound and these magnificent birds`chants.
I love you too cute earthworm
