They used to have a bigger drop than the Scott drop, but the wooden structure collapsed during winter a while ago. That is why you need a Scott Gambler in Les portes du soleil hahaha.
Correct. Doesn’t look like it’s seen a lot of action since they stopped running the mountain style on that course either! You had to go past a fair few closed signs to get to it when I was up there even back in 2017
@Lucas-T: easy to say things like that after staying comfortably on the other side of the camera… . P.s. thanks for filming the first hit so I didn’t have to risk going back for more! It looked a lot scarier having seen it from the bottom!
The Scott drop is nice too when you ski on it. They used to have a 10-12 meters drop too. They had a big crash with a kid destroying his ankles. Two helicopters came and the poor kid was screaming like a piglet. The video was huge on the French DH scene.
I never send the Face but it is massive and scary, Crappable hits, Dirt Merchant, A-line are like blue trails compared to that one. The fact there is no more Chatel Mountain Style + tons of crashes didn't help. It is like Proline level and even some pro struggle to clean the big final jump near the church/restaurants.
GM: "I noticed"

Drop looks a bit smaller, but a lot more technical than the Scott drop! Horrible crash!
At least he was lucky it happened in France, they easily send a helicopter.
