Video: 'Shifting Perceptions' - Episode 3 of Crankworx's Web Series about Women in MTB

Feb 12, 2019
by Official Crankworx

Crankworx, with support from TELUS Local Programming, is proud to present the final episode of “Shifting Perceptions,” a three-part web series about women in mountain biking.

Where to next? More riders are making their way to mountain bike Mecca, equipment has upped the ante, and the next generation is coming in hot. Riders at all stages of their careers, including Micayla Gatto, Jill Kintner and Valentina Höll, talk about how the game’s been changed, and their hopes for the future.

Catch up with Episode 1...

...and Episode 2:

Thanks to our friends at TELUS Local Programming who made this project possible and, of course, to the riders who kept their eyes on the prize, pushed for the top, stepped up and proclaimed: “If I can do it, you can do it.”

 BC, best mountain biking in the world, welcome to our backyard, please bring beer.

 The prices you guys have to pay for beer is a crime. There should be Beercare for All in Canada.

 @endlessblockades: our beer isn't 2.5% though

 @crysvb: Neither is ours! You can't even buy that stuff in any states I frequent.

 @endlessblockades: this is something every Czech kid will laughing about down on his knees, Canadian and American picking on each other about which one have better beer.
Well boys, you most probably never had one real.

Pilsner Urquell

 @bok-CZ: not to mention the Belgians and Deutsch, who are too drunk to even laugh. Never judge an iceberg by its tip though.

 @bok-CZ: Ooh I would like to try that beer, the world's first pale lager, sign me up! I will look for some in our stores.

 @bok-CZ: In our defence however, there are so many micro breweries and artisan beers out there locally and throughout the US and Canada that you could spend a lifetime trying amazing beers and not even make a dent in what's available!

 @Bomadics: yeah I know some of them very well heh and I like them, we are just more on Pils here, that's how you recognise a Czech in Whistler, by a can of Pilsner in hand

 @bok-CZ: ... Heyyy! We drink Czechvar and Kozel here in Canada too!

 @brentkratz: thumbs up!

 MTB is a great way to boost one's confidence! You start small at a local gravel trail, then you venture into a bit of bumpy stuff, then you get hooked. You start to look for more things you never thought you'd ride over and all these "obstacles" turn into "challenges and opportunities" for personal growth. Then you see the parallel in your own life and gives you the forward momentum to progress in other aspects of life. #mtblife

 I wish there where more comments here, in fact, I wish there was more self-love in pinkbike, and love to each other! woman, deserve double the mad respect the man do in the sport. the ladies for sure kill it twice as hard on this job then man do. but I am so stoked that its finally getting better and with these videos, encouraging woman to push the boundaries a bit more. I am stoked for this event, every time, every year and now I am going to be twice as stoked as before.
