Video: Spending Time on Bikes & With the Family in 'Generations'

Oct 21, 2021
by Kona Bikes

As we get older, our priorities change, time becomes fleeting, and we learn to take less for granted. Ambassador Tim DaCosta is learning to embrace and appreciate every minute he gets to spend with his family. Bikes have become a critical part of their daily life. With the continued popularity of pump tracks and dirt jumps, they're becoming more accessible to riders of all ages and are proving to transcend generations and strengthen family bonds.

Pretty awesome. I’ve had my now 13 yr old out on the trail since he was 4 and he is mere weeks to months away from being faster than me. That day will be memorable. I cherish the time together and love that he loves it as much as I do

My 3y/o just started pedaling this year, doing many campground rides and a few trail rides - stoked for what’s to come! My little riding buddy Smile

Man its awesome when your kids get faster than you - and you start getting faster trying to keep up with them! I am trying and improving but still failing to keep up but its so much fun. Older two faster & better, youngest one still slower than me but it won't be long! Bikes are the best Smile

Aside from the heart warming video, I've got a 2021 shonky and its the most absurdly awesome bike ever. The dropouts are awesome, the lettering is great, and its a bombproof bike.

"Getting old is hard" WTF, is this guy even 40?!

I am curious, though, on the difference in attitude between a 40-something who's been MTB'ing since a teenager vs. those like myself who took it up in their 40s. Mountain biking makes me feel like a kid, but maybe for the long-timers they are more aware of how much stronger/better/faster they used to be.

Nice video. Wish I could get my son into MTBing

It's hard. I used to bounce back so fast after crashing my rigid, canti - braked, toe - clipped, 21 speed bike in the early '90s. These days a crash cam mean months of physio, and wondering if I'll get back to where I was. Enjoy your rides folks!

I love the wholesome vids and everything but can we please get some proper videos of families biking? I’m talking child tantrums, parent breakdowns, etc., we don’t all live in a fantasy world and it’d be fun to see videos that resemble real life.
