Video: Squamish Local Laps on Fresh Loam & Grippy Granite

Nov 20, 2019
by Jo Peters

As the rainy season starts in the Sea to Sky, I settle in for quick laps, constant wet gear, and daydreaming about the ski season. I've also been able to take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to live and ride where we do. Almost every day of 2019 has been filled with adventure, face shots of loam, deep breaths of oxygen in the rainforest, laughter till tears, endlessly grippy granite, sculpted berms of golden hero dirt, sketchy chutes with ribbons of roots, shuttles, pedalling, sprinting, jumping, dropping and so much more. I have worked with Dialed in Cycling all summer to bring skills to other women in the sport, I have travelled around British Columbia racing enduro and I have had chill weekends home and away exploring new views and new trails.

All this would not be possible without the support of Dialed in Cycling, Norco Bicycles, One Up Components, Sombrio Cartel and Nobl Wheels. I am lucky to ride a beautiful bike with the best components in functional gear. I have never felt so much confidence, grip, precision and balance than with my current set-up. I am looking forward to even better things in 2020, if that's even possible!

best trail riding I've ever done! Everyone needs to ride there. Houses are cheaper than Vancouver as well and lots of parking for Vanlifers.

@jaydawg69: is right. Once you get to Squamish you also get a free snowmobile, free membership to the best Facebook groups, free guided tours from seasoned welcoming locals and monthly guided heli-drops. EVERYONE MOVE TO SQUAMISH!

 Nice Trails/Riders Squampton!

I liked hearing the tires on the granite rock.

They made it look easy.

Man, a lot of the Sombrio jerseys look so good, unfortunate that no shop near me carries them.

You must have seen shops on the internet before? Your doing ok so far accessing Pinkbike on it so try this search term:
'Sombrio jersey'.

Wow , a whole wide world (web) if shit your local shops don't sell is now available to you.
  • 15 1
@Chilliwacker: there is one german online store who has 3 jerseys in total, other than that it’s only sketchy eBay shops. The web might be world wide, but shipping costs and import tax are still a thing.

I also usually like to try on stuff from brands which I didn’t have before. No reason to get your undies all tangled up.

@Upduro: merely passing on some obvious advice and how do you know I'm wearing underwear?
I'm not the one moaning about not being able to order some bike stuff when even CRC stocks some Sombrio and has decent shipping rates and excellent returns policy.
