This video is meant to show the hustle needed to win MTB races. From the day-to-day routine, gym, and the weekend riding. Here, performance is key and Intensity is what you experience throughout the process.

 For me personally most of that lifestyle ultimately subtracted from the fun of riding.

 Yeeeeees that

 I honestly think he is missing that point. Happens a lot here in Portugal

 @Gilmarques: Flipside is how conditioned you need to be to charge on any modern day course, let alone on his home turf in Sao Miguel. I love riding there, but it is about as gnarly as anything I could imagine.
Kudos Joao. Keep on slaying!

 @xBLASTOFFx: Yeahh mate, thanks!

 The main purpose to incorporate the riders lifestyle, was to show the hustle needed to be able to ride the way he did. Also training for further races of the cup this year.

 @xBLASTOFFx: really don't want to take any profits from his will to fight for something* he's definitely committed to something and that's good. But unfortunately most riders (from my experience in Portugal) forget the whole point why we all started this sport. To have good times with mates

 Used to race XC and DH at a high level in U.K years back...Peaty was racing same.
I used to get up early have 2x breakfast, cycle 55min to work (incl snow), full cooked lunch, whole feckn day at work, long way home 3hr, big dinner, repeat, repeat, etc, race in the weekends either a DH or XC for a good placing.
I think I too look misirable. I did have fun and would do the same again.

 For many, pushing yourself and competing is the fun. The action and excitement of it all.

 We humans have funny little brains that generally speaking aren't happy when things become static and easy. If it wasn't hard it wouldn't seem worth doing!

 Anyone knows what is he spraying on his fork/shock/dropper post at 2:40 ?
  • 6 0
 silicon most likely , ex: muc off silicon shine.
Makes stanchions feel like butter.
  • 6 0
 Stanchion lube is not something I spray around brake rotors/pads as a casually as he does, usually drop a clean rag over them just in case of overspray.

 @OlaGeladosDH: Seems legit, thanks!
  • 1 1
 @Joecx: give it a spray but be careful they will feel so good.

People need to learn to do this, makes a hell of a differnce
