Redbull was smart to get Eliot on board to do this. He's got the rider's perspective, incredible knowledge of the stats and arguably the best attitude out there, what a class act.
@Clarkeh: I was thinking the same thing, he and Wyn are such bright and funny personalities they get riders comfortable and laughing. Gets the best content, so pumped to see Elliot on this side of the operation.
Love the infectious laughter Eliot! What a trooper - great coverage and interviews. Funny wih Atherton’s awkward laughing thoguh - not the natural laugher that one
Great job on this video. Good insight into what the riders are looking for in a track and really funny interviews! Would love to see more of those with Eliot !
Eliot is for sure one of the nicest dudes out there. Every time that someone release a podcast, interview, video or whatever with him is a great time and now we gonna have this every world cup race... this sport just make me happier and happier every day : )
Eliot awesome! Now that we've lost the laughter of Claudio, we needed another pick up. Eliot's positivity, repoire with riders and teams, and his hands on experience all contribute to a worthwhile, entertaining, and informative watch.
Great interviews and coverage. Eliot is such a chill and positive dude and you can see the riders getting stoked talking to him. This, plus Cathro and Wyn TV = awesome!
If this was anyone but Elliot I'd be "Why isn't Cathro doing this for RedBull!?!?! Grrrrr"............but Elliot is the nicest guy on the planet so I'm all aaahhh he's awesome. Can we have both on the official stuff RB?
I think Elliot has another career avenue if he decides the risk of racing isn't worth it... awesome job to everyone involved that was highly enjoyable from a viewer/fan perspective!
Dear Redbull, This was pure entertainment, it was great!!! But I would have enjoyed it just as much if I'd had 5 other perspectives as well. Letting Cathrovision and others do some proper filming isnt going to detract from anything. The mtb community will watch them all and chances are those new to the sport will only watch it on youtube a week later or stumble across it by accident on Redbull TV. PLease share the love
This is an excellent addition to CathroVision. We are able to see so much more of the track in detail between these two. Looking forward to watching Ben and Eliot all season.
very well done. Eliot puts the other two on theirs toes hopefully... I like Warner but I think the other guy should stick to pump tracks moving forward.
Sick. Love the longer shots of riders. Elliot does an amazing job, he knows what questions to ask and understands how to pull extra info out of the riders. So nice to hear interviews that are not the same questions with the same answers.
Its also great seeing these AND the stuff Cathro is doing. It all adds up to a great week of racing!
Really cool content which fits well with Cathrow vision. While Bens content is on the scientific/analytical side of riding, Elliotts is more personal and focused on the emotional/mental experience for the riders. Awesome contrast without poaching Ben's work. Plus Elliott's clearly so stoked to be there.
Always a pleasure to see this outstanding attitude from Eliot. Great to have the riders perspective from Eliot and Ben´s insides combined as coverage upfront, great format from both!
Hey Eliot what I want too know is about tyres, I have been using plus tyres for a year or 2 & I know that I am faster on them So why do most riders use 2.3 tyres?
I would imagine that too much volume would act like uncontrollable undamped suspension, plus the difficulty of supporting the sidewalls through corners at those speeds.
It may well be that cushcore-type tire inserts will allow larger DH volumes than previously seen.
@aljoburr: Yes. It's not exactly a 1:1 displacement of air by cushcore since there's air inside the closed cell foam structure, but that air is independent of the tire air and experiences a different force:pressure curve. Essentially the air in the foam acts more progressive than the remaining air in the tire and acts like it has much more high speed compression and rebound damping due to having to move the (relatively heavy) foam structure.
Great stuff Elliot!
Together with Ben C and the Fox Diales Series we are spoiled this year.
Now we should have Nathalie Schneiter also commenting men's downhill instead of Claudio and it's perfect.
If I'm remembering correctly, Eliot discussed this in a podcast (downtime maybe??) about data acquisition and testing. It was really interesting to hear from a WC racer about panic breaking and being aware of it and trying consciously not to and/or not even being aware of it at the time he's actually doing it.
'what are you trying to achieve in timed training?'...…. ' have fun'....if he didn't do well in the race I would sack him, probably a good thing im not a team manager :-)
one of the most interesting rider's interviews I've ever heard

Can we have both on the official stuff RB?
So why do most riders use 2.3 tyres?
Bring us more of him
