No such thing as a bad track in Slovenia. Doesn't exist.—Lyle
What an exciting bit of dirt we have been presented with in Pohorje. A whole heap of fresh sections; from new jumps out the start gate, lots of widely taped sections in the woods and then an asphalt, knee drag finish line - there's a lot to work with.
This is going to be one flat out race.—The Syndicate
Surprised they didn't put the finish line at the bottom of the jump, right when the pavement starts and before it turns, looks like there'd still be plenty of space to run out. This is terrible placement as is.
Possibly a timing issue? I know some national bodies require a dh track to be x minutes long.... maybe this one was at the limit of what the UCI needs?
@speedyjonzalas: What national cycling body would measure a track's length in time units, if speed is the variable on which the win is being contested?
@gemma8788: UCI states 50 metres, I guess they also wanted seating in the final arena, but there wouldn't be room for both, so maybe that's why they incorporated the corner in. See above link.
Does not compute!
