Maybe a *DoubleSTACK* container like Boeing uses down here in WA! Taller, bigger, better!

i make it to Whistler for 3 days a year and ride double blacks etc. I 'm accomplished rider but getting older and for some reason I always shied away from the container jump. Kept telling myself I was going to get it next time. Imagine how disappointed I was when they were gone this year. Because I was totally going to do it this time. Damn't.

It’s like crabapple in reverse. Always said I’d hit them, but every year they got bigger, and so did my pussy-ness.

The coffee/dehydration link is a myth. Caffeine is a diuretic in large amounts, but the reason you pee when you drink coffee is because it's mostly water! Just like beer (the best recovery drink with the water, nutrients, and low alcohol content to help with soreness and happiness), all things should be enjoyed in moderation.

I need the uppers of coffee to counteract the downers of alcohol and vice versa.

Speaking of which, Peter, can you get some of those sweet public urinals like Paris has so that we don't have to use the woods like animals?

This comment is mostly correct, caffeine is in fact a diuretic, however it is a weak diuretic, and the amount of caffeine in a coffee isn't enough to dehydrate you considering the amount of water you drink in a cup of coffee. The net effect of drinking a coffee is actually hydration, however alcohol is a much more powerful diuretic than caffeine and even a small amount of alcohol can seriously inhibit the release of the hormone ADH which controls how much water is reabsorbed into the blood within the kidney. Beer is mostly water, but the amount of alcohol in beer is enough to make you pee more liquid than you drank. Doesn't stop me from drinking beer after every day in the park though.

@sammccooey: You're not a nerd until you start throwing around the terms nephron or distal convoluted tubule...
  • 2 0
@sammccooey: Don't forget that it also depends on the kind of coffee you drink. Drip, french press, and americanos are hydrating but lattes and cappuccinos are a different story.

PS. It's not necessarily a bad thing to be a nerd! Big Grin

@megaold: we all took highschool bio
  • 3 0
@Jimmy0: I don't think I encountered a distal convoluted tubule until my animal physiology class in the 2nd year of my biology degree. You must have gone to better schools that me...

@Thustlewhumber:" sweet public urinals like Paris has"
do you mean, the new unpractical open air ones that are made for men only, or the old ones that were filled with needles, crack addicts and smelling like syphilis and HIV had a baby ?

I saw a new container near the old area on freight train yesteray, would be cool if they got it open before end of season and hopefully the new landing won’t be so damn close to the next feature!

Where's Brick with the weather? Seriously though, Good effort. Glad the containers are getting a revamp, they were sweet!

Closing ALL of Dirt Merchant after Crankworx to rebuild the bottom section was a FAIL!!! Could've left most of it open and put in a link track in where the construction starts.

I like the backdrop photo of Mt Shuksan from the Mt Baker ski resort. I've always said, the best view in Canada is of America. Party on oh friendly neighbors from the north, thanks for the shout out!

It's most definitely a garage sale find, not a shoutout. And while we might postively wish British Columbia were in our country, I'm pretty sure the same is thought about Bellingham. Don't think it's much of a shoutout as a picture Peter's mom found used in Lynden!
