Before the race season, Canadian National DH Champion Kirk McDowall trains on Cypress Mountain - the wild west of the North Shore. It's high speed trails through old-growth yellow cedar not only make for great World Cup practice, but are visually stunning. Recent rain and heavy fog made this day particularly Vancouver-y, but we couldn't have been more stoked to hang out in the forest and capture some video!

Oh and we some of the best resort/backcountry skiing in the world 90 minutes away.
Awesome I’m glad you all have back country skiing. I think most places that get snow and have resorts have backcountry skiing and snowboarding. Once again though comparable to Bend. Bends local mountain is 30 minutes from town and in the summertime you can downhill and ride your bike back into town and in the winter time you can snowboard your ass off because there’s thousands of acres of back country land you’re allowed to ski and Board on.
Oh and did I mention cost-of-living is about three times less in Vancouver? Also the local mountain is an active mountain that flows lava and so there are thousands of Hot Springs within 30 minutes of Bend want to keep on going?
Stoked you will be in Vancouver, you can't pass up on riding the Nth Shore !
You can rent bikes and get a guided tour through Endless Biking on any local mtns.
They are the longest serving bike rental, lessons and tours company on the Nth shore, 10 years.
I am a local XC and All Mtn guide with them and an Endless Biking ambassador, they are a great company and super helpful in all areas.
They carry all Rocky Mountain Bikes and have a great selection.
Check out www.endlessbiking.com for all your questions and answers.
Cheers
I'll check Endless and try to fit it in my schedule. This is not the first time for me in YVR but I only walked around the city and only a commuting ride @ lost lake park in the past. I have to try some real NS trails this time as i am getting older and I am running out of time :-).
