FMD, the team with true grit.

We embarked on this journey together 4 years ago. From the beginning we had no doubt it was going to be a tremendous success. We started small, collectively with plans to grow with one another, and grow we did.

We broke ground the first time at your home in the UK and we immediately knew it was a perfect fit. The last four years have provided lifelong memories; our first of many World Cup victories, whip off wins, elite, junior and youth podiums. From 500's to 11's, injuries, parties, tears by way of victory and defeat. We did this together through love and passion. As you begin your next chapter we will be watching and continue to openly cheer for you. Tony, Tahnee, Kaos, Jake, Owen, Jed, Matt and Parfy, you will forever be family.

Much love from your Transition family.

Go get em!

Transition is the best. Maximum respect for everything they do and this video sums it up. If you ride a transition you are part of a family.

pretty sure 2020 has a TR11 frame in store for me!

They will ride for Trek. You heard it first.

That’s very cool on both parts. They’re obviously going to a big brand next year and transition just couldn’t compete. Which is fair enough

@chyu: are you aure? I saw tahnee visited Canyon factory if i am right?
  • 1 1
On @fmdracing on Instagram they talked about working with some legends in 2020 with a picture of peaty and Tahnee so maybe Santa Cruz unless peaty is moving which seems unlikely, unless they were referencing someone else

 @paddykav:
Probably that peatys products will replace Muc-off!

Hmmmm. Can’t imagine them especially Tahnee on anything but a Transition. Seemed like a perfect and successful fit. Why change it? Why not just extend their contract?

Maybe it was on the table but Seagrave family is moving forward for other team, looking for different horizons? Don´t know where they are going, but remember Transition is not one of those "big names" with huge teams, and all the infrastructure all around them. And I own a Transition, so I would be more than pleased to see them stay, but it is life, things keep moving. Maybe in 5 years they return, who knows?

The career of a professional athlete is a finite thing, you gotta get paid what you can, when you can. If I were to guess, I'd say whoever they're signing with is spending a pretty penny to bring them on-board, probably many times what Transition is able to offer, and good for them to taking the money. You never know what's going to happen with your racing career, you never know what you'll be worth next time you're on the market, not to mention what it costs to train and stay at the top, if somebody comes along with a good bike you think you can win on and a hefty bag of cash, you have to take it. It's a bummer to see them leave Transition, but both FMD and Transition benefitted in a big way from the partnership, and FMD leaving Transition in order to get a bigger budget also means Transition just freed up some serious cash to sponsor another team.

I have loved my Sentinel and have been really debating if I’ll switch it out for something else this season since there doesn’t seem to be an update for it coming soon.
This video just made my decision for me.
I’m sticking with Transition! What an amazing company. They’re the real deal.
  • 2 0
 What do you consider soon?
  • 1 0
@harmar: soon would be by early spring 2020..
  • 4 1
@fitnj: I’ve heard that’s the timeline... That said, a Norco Sight is basically an updated Sentinel.
  • 1 0
@scvkurt03: I agree on the sight. I hope that’s the timeline. Just a small update. 150mm w 440ish CS and a touch more progression please. Everything is dialed.
  • 2 1
@scvkurt03: It's like how the Optic is an updated Smuggler.
  • 4 0
@pandafoo: To be fair, Norco did it’s own homework, even if Transition led the way between the two of them. Those two brands are absolutely killin it right now.
  • 1 0
A lot of what’s out there isn’t vastly improved over what you have right now, save for a bit more chain stay length. Stick with the sentinel, and wait for the longer travel version (if that’s your thing). I’m still digging my carbon sentinel and at least for me small tweaks aren’t worth the 4K CAD price, unless there’s drastic changes with these bikes going forward.

NIce bikes, nice team. It will be interesting to see what the new season brings for both.
  • 10 5
@jaame: Maybe “Seagrave Cycles” to go head to head with Atherton Bikes. That would be pretty amazing.

Love seeing this, when a team and brand can part ways so amicably and wish nothing but the best for each other it’s great.

I though before watching video the Dipstick was the UCI when Kaos shows up at first world cup of the season, to find out he did not have enough points to qualify?

I Tr11st(no fork intended) Tahnee will be better from this Transition. For the riders, by the riders. TRue family.
  • 3 4
Always been a massive fan of, if it ain't broke- don't fix it, and the TR11 is a fcking awesome world cup winning bike sooo does anyone know the reasoning behind this?

Contract disagreements?
Bigger salary from another brand?
Do the Seagrave's think they can better their results on another bike?
  • 13 0
Most likely someone offered more money than Transition was willing or able to pay... That the business of racing...
  • 3 2
 no 29er
  • 2 0
Alright let's get some baseless speculation going. What bike do we think they'll be on next year?
  • 2 0
Maybe Trek since they lost that other big female downhill pro?
  • 7 8
I really want to love Transition Bikes, but each model is 2-3 lbs heavier than the comparable model from several other manufacturers. I need to earn the climb for everything I ride, so I'm sorry to say I've still never owned a Transition even though they're local to me.

 Get one. It’s worth it.
  • 6 0
 Geometry. Thank me later
  • 7 0
Do you ever carry an extra 1L water bottle? 2.2 lbs right there. People need to spend less time worrying about semantics of bike weight and worry more about how geo affects the ride performance.

Tahnees latest Instagram story must be whipping up some rumours!!!!!

Will not own another brand of bicycle ! CLASS ACT
  • 1 0
I'm pretty much in the same boat. Still own giant and intense frames, but the Transition is my current favorite, and thoughts of an upgrade to a newer version are ever present. It would take a loss in quality of manufacture that would make me doubt upgrading to a new Transition frame.
  • 3 0
But, is their customer service actually good? Being publicly nice is cool and all, but doesn’t help me if my frame breaks.
  • 3 0
@nickfranko: I have had questions and always have gotten a quick and honest response. That being said I have not had any kind of warranty issues.
  • 5 0
@nickfranko: had both a warranty and some tech questions. Both were answered same day and the warranty I was back on my bike in 1 week. That, and after joking in one of the emails, I even got a meme for a response. That's pretty hilarious.
  • 3 0
@nickfranko: Broke a frame after warranty period, they made me a cracking offer on a new carbon frame, and had it to me in 4 days. Outstanding service all the way around.
  • 3 0
@nickfranko: Yes it is. Company with a passion in bicycles who cares about their customer experience and public perception. I have had noting but good experiences with their support team.
