"Istanbul is a historical city bridging two continents together. We enjoyed the beautiful streets of Istanbul on our wheels for a couple of days and prepared a movie of our adventure! Enjoy the movie!"—Burak Uzun
Turkey is a quick flight away from the UK, every time I visited I've wondered why they don't have a big MTB presence as it's has it all epic mountains, great transport, and some of the best hospitality I've ever encountered. Am I missing out on an already existing badass scene. Cool video and some nice steeeze riding.
Mtb is a very expensive sport here, an entry mid end mtb worths around 9 month of minimum wage. Because of that there is not much of a society and companies don't invest for bike parks, trailheads etc
well we do have mountains here in Turkey but we dont have any proper trails like you guys have, we have 1 or 2 solid 10 mins of dh but its not common either, thats why majority of turkish riders always go for urban dh but when you come Turkey you can visit kapadokya one of the amazing places in the world that riding scene is amazing also www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkRlRhxO-oA burak uzun has a another video including kapadokya
Great vids. My wife and I honeymooned in Turkey..,went to Kapadokya and all I could think and see were endless free ride lines , wall rides and huge natural gaps .., almost rented some bikes, but what I wanted to ride and what the bikes could have Handled were definitely 2 different things..,,
I remember being there like 5-10 years ago and finding a spot where I was like that would crazy DH, it has a kind of steep walkway that lead into to a bunch of stairs.
Great edit and riding. Looks like the camera guy made a last minute choice to back up at 2:28. Definitely would've done the same. Some serious hucks! Maybe time for you guys to start testing rims for Santa Cruz's reserve wheels
Nice riding and vid! F@ck politicians! I've been three times in Turkey with motorbike (92, 01 and 04). I want to go again if the politicians stop wanting half of the Aegean and Mediteranian sea... Never mind, keep up the good work!
Istanbul is not really a pancake flat city but it's not very mountainous either. The highest point in the city is at 550 meters. There aren't many trails suitable for gravity oriented style of riding. Most dedicated mountain bikers ride XC, myself included.
Support your local mountain bike trail association. That’s what this video should be called. Unless you enjoy concrete stairs.
A lot of new riders to the sport this year. Get out there and help dig on trail days. Or send a donation to your local mtb association. Or you will end up just riding stairs like these guys.
I have been working on this issue for years. But nobody helps us. I built this park for everyone to use, but it has been three years since we could not get enough support and the park could not be completed. That's why I can say that the young people are urban riding in the city. Please check my video www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXyqUVhUPH0&list=RDCMUCnRVzkDHZ2P2i3poCtNppAA&start_radio=1&t=50
One Scott gambler 2016 and YT industries Tues for sale. Both ridden once within the city. Fully serviced. Buy now, no trade, will ship globally from Istanbul
I occasionally get their videos recommended on YouTube, I like to watch them, I already recognized some locations. These guys have some skills, that's for sure. Good to see it from another perspective.
I think it's mutual.
