Amazing arial shots of Seymour at the start there! And some really cool detail shots afterwards too.

So they showed the roll leading to the Dales Rock/Crack a bunch of times (and even showed a few riders on the main feature...). Is that going to be in the course?

If so there is going to be some carnage among those who aren't familiar with it- or even for those who do know it, but get caught coming into it and finding others in the way trying to walk down it.

They've raced Dale's in previous years. There's no way on Earth the rock is in the course, though.

They would have to do the detour route. The rock roll then crack would kill random xc folks from elsewhere.

Nice job dudes! Good to see the BCBR coming back to the shore next year!

I have never seen that much Lycra before in the old buck parking lot !
I’m sure that a lot of the BCBR riders will love the shore, whats not to love.

I wish I could have been a spectator last time they dragged them down shore trails. All that lycra being raked over the coals on Dales... a sight to behold.

@mammal: watching them navigate the first bit of Severed was already sketchy.

@mammal: Its more of an Interpretive Forest Walk for many sausage-suited competitors.
That said, the speed the guys and gals at the front of the pack carry on terrifying bikes on even more terrifying tires is wildly impressive.

@cooperquinn-wy: Absolutely. The degree of tech ability drops off substantially, with the top guys/gals navigating at a solid "9", and the median rider slogging along at perhaps a "2" (being generous). But if they finish the day with a smile, everyone's a winner!

I did it in 2017 and North Van was hands down my favorite and strongest stage. It was then that I realized maybe xc wasn't for me... would love to go back with a proper bike, although taking a 110mm bike to it's ragged edge was fun too. Dodging the walkers was tough.

@brandonrock72: I was there for 2017 as well and I just yelled "Canadian coming through!". Seemed to work quite well

 So I'm guessing Chilliwack>North Van>Squamish>Whistler>Pemberton

North Van SUCKS. Go ride Squamish.
