I remember my first time racing in Italy - nothing puts you off as much as a bunch of screaming Italians on a technical section, shouting "die"

*they're actually shouting "daje", the equivalent of "allez", but I didn't know that at the time!

"dai" in Italian can be translated as "come on" and the pronunciation is the same as "die" in English. Languages can be funny a lot of times!

@Ttimer: as a socal native, i usually dont have any grip. books tell you to brake less often but hard. im always riding on the brake because i dont know if the ground before that turn will grip or slip

I wanna know why the guy had an extra helmet on his pack. If you break your full face helmet I'm pretty sure you're not just gonna slap on a new helmet (non-full face) and carry on.

Races require full face for the descents, so some riders carry 2 helmets. Until some years ago it was a common sight.
