Respect for Troy for crashing and still getting 3rd. That's pretty insane
  • 51 3
Troy's run was good, but Sam Hill had the best Australian-3rd-place-race-run-with-a-crash-at-Val-di-Sole, OF ALL TIME!

Seriously though, Troy would have won without that crash. His pace has been getting substantially faster as the season progressed, maybe culminating in a world champs win?
  • 14 3
Troy was fastest at split 1, 3sec back at split 2 with the crash, and only 1.8sec back at split 3.
So he was fastest at split 1, 1.2sec fastest at split 3 than Gwin on the last section... Don't you think he wasn't better than Gwin that time ? Wink

EDIT : sorry, misunderstanding your comment

Don't forget breaking his finger as well!!
  • 8 0
Considering that Troy crashed, his result was mindblowing. What could/should have been!
  • 5 0
A repeat of Windham for Troy...gutted for him. Rest assured, if he can grips the bars he will be a force at worlds.
  • 5 0
he would have SMASHED that time of Gwin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 2 0
Is there any video of the crash? Must be a small one since he only lost 2/3s?
  • 1 0
@pi3r it was a pretty big crash according to the rider interviews

Sometimes when don't master english it's quite hard to explain how you feel, don't forget that english isn't his first language Smile
  • 48 0
@LittleWing, I think Loic explained his feelings just fine. I'm fairly certain AllMountin feels the same way and posted that quote because it's typical Bruni, very honest and with a great attitude. It's not hard to understand why so many people like him and are pulling for him to get his first World Cup victory.
  • 29 0
Bruni is the shit. Always so respectful and humble. He's finished second a number of times this year, and could easily be frustrated by it. Instead he congratulates and compliments the winner, and moves on. Great guy to have in the sport.
  • 4 0
Yeah Bruni seems like he is a pretty stand up guy. Every second he gets is just fuel for when he eventually crushes the field.
  • 4 1
He's still pretty young and has learned TONS already. He'll get his soon enough...possibly even in a couple of week's time.
  • 5 0
Can't be many race fans who wouldn't be happy to see Loic take a win, competitive in the best possible way.
  • 52 0
 Troys run was strait savage
  • 13 1
He's like the anti-Minaar. On the ragged edge; bordering on out of control. Can't stop watching.
  • 5 1
Seriously. I was betting on him to win and still manages a 3rd even after smashing into a rock breaking his finger. Those lines he was taking and at that speed were next level.
  • 4 2
Just needs to handle pressure in the finals a litle bit better and what another champion dominiation we ll have...
  • 8 0
I don't know that I'd look for him to dominate. Spesh has something good going with Gwin and Brosnan, but look for Loic to come back stronger next season with Vergier pushing him over at Lapierre. I see Specialized and Lapierre in a battle next year; on the podium every race. Maybe the Chainsaw Massacre and Ratboy can regain that top form as well. The stakes have been raised, but I see 5 or 6 guys with a clear shot at the top step each week. Less domination and more parity.
  • 31 0
Brosnon and Faircloughs sections could have been the whole highlight video, they were pretty much surfing that whole trail.
  • 25 0
The WC season is way too short. Another 10 races please!
  • 4 1
yeah and why aren't there races in the winter ????? the season could begin in februari in europe and end in Africa in november !!!
  • 2 0
I agree completely, a winter season would be awesome. Sadly there are two words that will put a stop to your dreams. Ski Lifts. Frown

People say DH is dead. One of my Life Motto's is "Don't give a shit what people say." (Except for the dumbing down of existing trails)...DH IS AS AWESOME AS IT HAS EVER BEEN!
  • 11 0
Totally agree..i attended the event live every year..and i never seen so much people screaming in the woods like yesterday..LONG LIVE DOWNHILL
  • 7 1
Long live DH! The greatest sport that there is.
  • 21 2
 Who said it was dead?
  • 3 0
 Noone that I've heard....do you mean 4x? People do say that's dead....arguably...26in?
  • 4 0
I once heard freeride was dead... maybe that's what he's talking about?
  • 2 1
all that "DH... Freeride...dead" i don't know where it's coming from....?if BMX is a live and kicking for so many years so for sure DH and Freeride is a live...it looks like most of PB readers are DH/freeride fanatics, there is so many sad people this weekend due to end of the worldcup season..... i got in to it in past two years, totally change my life...i can't call it sport it's pure obsession foe 2/3 min of speed orgasm and yhha it looks like it's getting better every season in all the MTB disciplines
  • 2 2
I mis-spoke a bit I guess...the topic of this pg is really World Cup DH. No one has said WC is anything but great....especially this yr and last. My reference was to a more general/local attitude towards DH/Freeride. Too much shift to 6x6 bikes and the feeling that DH is a shrinking segment. Just because you CAN ride a bike other than a dedicated DH bike down a trail doesn't mean you are "riding DH" in its ultimate form. Anyways...as stoked as ever on riding a bicycle down a hill at Mach 1.7 Big Grin ...LONG LIVE SHUTTLING THE BIG RIGS!

I reckon thats what the marketing people are telling you, probably not the reality out there in the real world
  • 3 0
loopie, what a fitting name. You're insane, my friend... but that's not a bad thing.
  • 2 0
haha..."Chix dig the sick Trix". I slipped a pedal once and lived to tell the tale....I didn't get the girl
  • 2 0
I wonder what the average 2020 Val Di Sole Race bike will look like... I bet the tires will be wider. haha.
  • 15 2
Brosnan is the future, Gwin is todays champion.
  • 2 0
Definitely, I can see troy with a long future in world cup dh racing. He's still so young too so to be almost taking down Gwin is crazy.
  • 7 1
Next year it might be a brosnan-bruni fight, but I hope ratboy gonna join them as well
  • 25 0
Once he turns 14, Brosnan is going to be unstoppable.
  • 6 0
Yes, but Gwin is only 27. Minnaar is 33 and still in top form. If Gwin wants it, he can dominate for years to come.
  • 3 0
 Gwin is not that old.
  • 4 0
Gwin had a very hard paper round.
  • 6 0
Minnaar went crazy fast into the woods - sucked he crash - he was going for it. Would have loved to see him go crashless on that run - the world will never know. Troy too, was brutally insane. Gwin is a machine - With God blowing on his back for push no doubt and Loic, that kids day is coming and will stay around for quite awhile. And a few new names in that top ten!
  • 7 0
Hats off to all the riders but especially Gwin and Rach. They could have both coasted down the mountain and taken the overall. Instead they both let it all hang out on the toughest track of the year.Gotta love it..
  • 8 2
I realise heavens basement are a band signed by redbull records or whatever, but jesus, try to use a different song every once in a while in these videos...... you've well and truly worn this one out!
  • 2 2
i liked this song, is better than the last one (the one that sounded nickelbackish eww) has been used a lot in the past??
  • 3 1
 Anything but Sail.
  • 3 1
I made it 45 seconds in before hitting mute, it's a shame.
  • 1 0
I'm happy that they stop using sail and all its variations for everything, G what an annoying song!
  • 5 0
I always wondered why Brook MacDonald wasn't cracking the top ten. He has been working so hard at it. Glad to see one of the most stylish riders on the circuit finally get some results. Good going!
  • 4 1
Pretty stoked for Brookes' overall top ten. And Fairclough as well. Seems like Neko got way too much attention ditching Trek for Scott and he didn't produce at all.
  • 1 0
Troy crashed and still got 3rd, but Gwin had time to take off his vest and ride the middle part of the track before stopping to put it back on before the finish. Either that or that was a composite of qualifying and final runs.
  • 5 1
Does anybody know the song name?

Troy progressed in elite damn good. I am a little bit sad that he didn't win but overall it was amazing track and as we saw anything could happened ! Till next year xD
  • 4 0
Congrats on your podium finish Brooke!!! Good luck at world champs.
  • 3 0
 all hail to the bulldog
  • 2 0
Mad respect for Troy but part of racing is keeping it on two wheels. He's gonna be on top soon.
  • 4 0
 dream team podium!
  • 6 4
i feel like gwin should be required to race without a chain
  • 3 0
 Brook BugerKing is BACK!
  • 2 0
Why do RedBull.tv video always load slow for me?!?!
  • 1 0
