It's the final two DH World Cups of the year in Snowshoe, WV. Wyn Masters walks the track to see who's ready to shift it into high gear to finish out the season.
And if you follow the link, it takes you to a non-existent page... must be a conspiracy. The yeti E-bike is a myth. Like yetis themselves. They blurred it out in the field test intro vid, because it doesn't actually exist
@mafflin: my family roots are from WV. Not a thing, but it’s quite scary that for year two this is their only impression of the East Coast. Lol wonderful and wild!
@Chuch: Young Jackson thinking Ontarians and east are all like WV is definitely scary lol No wonder everyone in BC is terrified to visit the east! There sure are beauties from the Virginias, they're just scattered amongst the more puzzling folk hahaha
@Chuch: Not the only impression. Most of them landed in either NY or DC and spent some time sightseeing. Laurie and Brook even had their shit robbed out of their rental car in DC while they were taking photos of the Capitol! A real American experience!
@wynmasters: was there a week before last World Cup. Loved it too. People were super friendly. Hit the Old Spruce Brewery for some pints if you get a chance. Cheers Wyn!!
@Chuch: called ignorance. Spend too much time on either coast and no time in rural America and that happens...just listen to that young kid. Funny bc PA/wv and neighboring states are actually way rad compared to California...mainly bc of liberty thx to the voters
@PTyliszczak: happening in most cities run by the American Marxist. They're not enforcing the law. 1 Major reason we are trying to replace Newsome with larry elder in Cali.
Kinda weird I must say. I'm all for 'taking the piss' a bit and cracking jokes, but it seems like that there's a lot of overcompensation in the "let's make fun of Americans" while in America by non-American riders. The reverse is certainly not true, i.e., American riders are generally quite complimentary when abroad from what I can tell. I mean I get it too, it is WV, so there's that. But again, one wonders how the likes of say Neko privately feel seeing all their Euro rider friends in a constant state of playing the caricature of the worst American redneck while on American soil.
@PTyliszczak: both hands full of stolen goods. If caught, they're out before the officer is even done writing the report. Terrible DA in la and sf have cost many lives.
It amazes me how riders like Bernard Kerr, Loic Bruni, Duprella and even Luca Shaw race through their injuries when someone like Aaron seems content to sit back because he doesnt feel confident to win. Not ditching his injury but attitude and mental strength go a long way, in many ways he should have been in Europe supporting and advising the team if thats the position you want to take. Racing is not always about winning, its about doing the best you can with the bike, skills and body you have. Just ride your bike dude.
i dont know if Gwin sounds angry or even disappointed... since he changed all of his sponsers, hes not at his speed. for how long is he riding now that proto Intense?
@neimbc: read a bit more and you will see that you are all wrong. He is just saying that the healthier you are in your everyday life, the stronger you will be to fight the virus. Which is true! A really high number of victims in USA have suffering from others diseases (tooth decay, etc.).
He is different but that’s not a reason to misjudge without really reading first !
@Altair74: I’ve read the nonsense that Dean post. Honestly lost a lot of respect for him with his misinformation that he shares on social media. We all use the megaphone however we want and spreading things at aren’t medically proven in a time where real people are dying is pretty silly. But cool hair dye bro.
@neimbc: Okay I think it’s time I clear this up so my name stops getting dragged through the dirt in Pinkbike comments.
I have not once denied Covid being a real thing, if you can find me saying that in any form I’d love to see it..? I’m not an anti vaxxer either, I’ve actually been double vaccinated so again I don’t know where you guys are getting this information from.
The thing I’ve put out publicly that people are getting worked up about and twisting to fit their ideas is when I promoted a healthier lifestyle to help your chances of dealing with the virus.
I said and still stand by the idea that governments should promote healthier eating, exercise and being in nature and the sun along with vaccination! They should look at all options to keep their people healthier and decrease the risk of dying from this virus. Think we can all agree with that??
Do your research next time and have some facts to back it up before you start making up shit on the internet cause this is a serious matter and people have lost their lives from it!!
Think hard about this cause people do read this stuff and it can have a profound negative effect on people’s view of not only me but anyone else for that matter.
bloody hell, give up the witch hunt already. One guy says he posted anti-vax shit and the internet takes off. I've followed him on the ´gram a long time and never seen any of the shit he "allegedly" said.
@deanosmachineos: very well said, some excellent points. It is so bizzare how governments have been very reluctant to send the message that obesity is a massive factor.
@mccarthyp: Do you know how powerful the obesity, sorry, agri-food lobbies are, especially in the States? I think the issue is that people aren't sure whether Dean Lucas and others have only started mentioning diet and lifestyle in the context of Covid, having never brought it up the past (Dean may well have been advocating for this for years, I've no idea - but then again is it ever a bad time to start talking about it?). This opens the door to people accusing them of saying there's an alternative to direct anti-covid measures, such as vaccines and all the other precautions put forward, and lumping them in with the ivermectin crowd, of which Dean obviously isn't a part (you can tell, because he is able to type coherently). Either way, it's a sensitive topic to say the least and not being overweight isn't a guarantee either, even if it probably improves your resilience to the disease.
Ok, you were right I should not have said what I said, it was rude and uncalled for. However, you cannot prevent catching Covid-19 from leading healthier lifestyle. It's wrong, it's not rooted in science and it can promote false sense of security. The only thing that really helps mitigating getting/spreading Covid-19 are masks, distance, ventilation and vaccines. Healthy/normal (whatever normal means) people who do get Covid-19 still have a high chance of getting serious long-term side effects (Long Covid). Recent studies prove that 10% of children who have had Covid-10 have Long Covid. No amount of physical excercise or healthy diet is going to help with that.
So please, you go and read some facts before spouting this crap about 'healthy lifestyle'.
@Brklss: Unless Dean implied that masks/vaccines and other mandates are unnecessary if you have a health lifestyle, I think you should step off the podium here. If the original post you're referring to is what he added above (in a nut shell), then it's a good message. As time goes on, our chances of contracting Covid increases overall (vaxxed or not), and being healthy is a great way of increasing your chances of getting through it.

"You'll be looking to move up that... errrr... box a little bit?"
We should let him loose on our politicians.
This guy must be from Maryland, because he's so crabby.
I think this guy needs to love more and B(a)rkL(e)ss.
