What happened to all the folks who kept saying BMX bikes have a clear advantage, and that there should be separate categories? Where'd you all go?

Tommy Zula is a pro BMX racer but chose to ride a Dirt Jumper - most of the male riders were also pro BMX racers but rode 20 inch BMX s- also last years entrant from the UK - Mark Ducat - rode a BMX last year but rode a dirt Jumper this year. It would be interesting to hear why they chose 26 inch wheels over 20

@AlanMcCrindle: some people say the 26" rolls over better than the 20" (sounds familiar ?) which is why they prefer it for "no pedaling" race that is pumptrack.

@AlanMcCrindle: I could definitely see the advantage changing based on the specific pump track. The size of the rollers probably has a big impact on which wheel size is quicker. Some of the folks on BMX bikes in the highlights video seemed like they were swimming in between rollers on this track.

If you go to Ray's CLE you'll see Tommy there. He does unthinkable things on a bicycle.

Was he just taking the piss when he said that in the interview or was he serious?!! ????

Well it's easy, he rides on a flat surface while the others ride on a curved surface, evident advantage there I'd almost say he is cheating !
