This is the first time that we put Kirt and Cam together in a video. Always fun times when these guys ride together as you will see. They are wearing the 2014 All Mountain / Trail gear that is available now on www.foxhead.com
I know cali and the whole south west is goin thru a drought. It kinda looks like that area. But that trail still looks so damn fun!! Dirt jumps all the way, wood features are cool, but its all about the dirt.
It looks like Cam is riding last years Slash, I would think he would have the latest and greatest from Trek so I would say this was filmed last summer.
I thought it was Bend at first too. Inland northern California makes sense though. Haven't been to Tahoe but it's all pretty similar from Shasta to Bend.
All of you guys selling out these trails are LAME. I'n sure you've spent plenty of time digging up there and that's why you get to blow up the spot on PB. Oh wait... No you haven't. Respect, guys. Have some respect.
@aaoliver, None of these commentors has sold out anything. All of the trail names mentioned in this thread are legal trails. We were simply determining which US state the trail is located because the looks of the terrain could easily be either. If you want to blame someone, blame the "pros" that freely come and go taking massive liberties to film (exploit) whatever they want time and again.
@esstinkay I definitely don't think that it's cool for anyone, "pro" or not, to film or shoot on other people's trails (these or any other trails that people work hard to build, maintain, and protect) and then put them out onto the internet, unless you are the person who has built those trails or you are working directly with the people that have. You are incorrect about the legal status of all the trails in this thread (I suggest you reference your previous post)... in reality, the video itself was relatively ambiguous, it is the follow up banter that is so obnoxious. I'm not "blaming" anyone, I'm telling you guys to knock it off and be cool.
aaoliver, I live in Oregon (though to be honest I don't live in Bend anymore), and when I saw something that I thought was a local trail, I asked to know where it is. I, along with everyone here, was asking to be told in a PRIVATE message, so that we could still keep it a secret if it was one to begin with. I feel like people get way too overly offended about asking where a trail is, like if you haven't dug there then you have zero right to ride. World Cup or EWS racers should be ashamed that they go ride all these trails that they didn't help build. OH WAIT. No they shouldn't, because they were built for people to enjoy, same as this.
@Gooldylocks I am sticking to my guns on this one. I would respectfully disagree with your comment that I am being some sort of trail elitist. I think once you see trails torn down, then you become more sensitive to this kind of thing. I don't think there is any reason why "world cup" or "EWS" people (why those details matter, I'm not sure) should be ashamed... it's not about a right to ride, it's about respect and preservation and appropriate dissemination of information. Several of the builders/maintainers of these trails are upset about the comments on PB (but not the video, ironically, because of it's ambiguity), because it's a sensitive issue in this region of the world; trails have been lost before, and could easily be lost again.
Oh, and "knock it off and be cool"? What, are we selling drugs at school? Yo be cool mane, o da heat goina catch you.
Edit: You think we haven't had trails closed or torn down up here either? That is a sad reality everywhere. That's why its a PRIVATE message. I didn't say yea just post it here and let everyone in the whole world know where it is.
I think both of you guys have a point. Private trails should remain private, for obvious reasons that those people took many hours of digging to make them for themselves and not the general public. However in a town such as Bend, we have a very extensive public trail system, maintained by local non-profits with huge help from volunteers in the community. These trails are supposed to be rode by everyone, and therefore the more people who know about them, the more people who will volunteer their time to help maintain and build trails. Neither of you are right or wrong, it is all situation dependent. If someone said it's a private trail, I doubt anyone would banter them. Otherwise, people enjoy having their public trails admired and shared.
@gooldylocks hahaha... wow, you are getting really fired up! I'm not sure what selling drugs at school or your off-color attempt at a joke have to do with this conversation? I also don't really know where your argument is going, but I am aware that trails get closed down all over the place for many different reasons and by different interest groups or agencies. Some places happen to be more contentious then others. I would recommend taking a trip and having some genuine interaction with the trail builders and locals, rather then asking for private message hand outs on PB. Sell all the drugs you want, by the way... I don't care.
Well Funner and Tiddlywinks (which these trails apparently are not) are 100% legal and sanctioned, which is the right way to do it. I completely understand the frustration of not being able to get trail builds approved, the process is a mess and there is a ton of opposition from self serving groups, but the negative publicity that "illegal" trails get just makes it harder for those of us who are jumping through the hoops and working on the political side as well as sweating on build days. To be clear, I'm not attacking anybody here. We should be working together...
This trail is illegal and is a phone call away from the dozer due to overuse, people picking up for shuttles where they aren't supposed to, and people getting hurt. There's a reason no one has ever made an 'official' video of that trail in the 7+ years it's been around. Ride it, respect it and don't film it and hopefully it will stick around. To the guys linking their PB account with photos and locations to make yourself feel rad, you are seriously lame, along with Fox.
This is a forum. Every poster on this thread has shown respect. But remember who created the video and publicised it on a public forum. Do they have the right to do that? If the trail is plowed, give credit where credit is due. In fact, send feedback now and tell them it is not ok to exploit a sensitive area for profit, otherwise they will continue with no consequence.
Say this was someone's secret illegal trail in Bend. All the PB kids PM each other and then all the sudden everyone in Portland and Ashland and Eugene knows about it. Skidding into lips and blowing up berms and getting life flights out of there. Bye bye trail.
One of my favorites!!! I always thought it was bad karma to film out there but they did it right...don't show anything that gives away the location. Doing my rain dance everynight!
Seems that everyone that rides the trail recognized it immediately. Because they repeatedly shot distinct features, it's trivial to figure out exactly what trail this is.
Remember: illegally built trails on public USFS land does not make them private. Illegally built trails on land owned by a mining corporation also does not make them private. Builders of said illegal trails have a right to chose to be tight lipped about the trails location but they can't control who rides the trails, who films on the trails, or who discusses the trails on a public forum. It's the builders choice to build illegally on public land. They have no right to keep anyone from riding it or keeping it on lock down. Even if you dig, you still don't "own" the trail, if it's on public land.
More videos please Voreis. Both of these guys really convey good times on bikes and not taking themselves too seriously; something always appreciated in the dub step to slowmo intense face web edit world we now live in.
All this talk about a trail network that is supposed to be "underground". We get it. All of you are so core that you know it and ride it, all the time, then let people just how core you are by talking/not talking about it on a very public forum.
Cool edit. Those dudes shred and bring a lot of personality to our tribe.
Oh, I hear ya. Not really concerned about what others think about what protection I wear. I'm 41 now and I don't bounce back as good as I used to. But more importantly, I need to be able to pick up my toddler, and to be in one piece for him.
If you wana know dry in the sierras around Tahoe just look at my video I just posted, we filmed it yesterday, it was snowing and even when my buddy would kick up dirt, dust would fly, not mud or even moist dirt...
This is 100% Tahoe, I've ridden this trail numerous times. That being said, I hope this video wasn't filmed recently. Tahoe is in for a rough summer if it's that dry already.
Tahoe is dry already. I was up in the sierras a couple weeks ago. It's ugly up there right now. Definitely in for a long rough summer this year. If we don't get crushed this next winter california in general is in a heap of trouble.
They're already fining people for washing cars or watering yards when the sun is up. And we just got put on a 250 gallon a day regulator. And I live in one of the wettest and most water needy areas in california. Central Coast. The farmers are tripping right now.
And my dad is on the board at a golf course in the sierras. They're budget 2 years ago for water... $0. This year they're looking at $50k.

Obviously, this video is called "Trail bombing with VOREIS and MCCAUL". Thanks for the insight though
Get off the high horse and be reasonable.

These guys are so good. I'd be rockin' my FF and Leatt on that trail. I'm such a wuss.
EDIT: Also, emergency room visits cost more than a FF + Leatt combined...
Wait - what? Closed? Since when?
