The 2010 European downhill champion, Robin Wallner is on a road trip through Spain and Portugal this month with his brother Niklas and his friend André Bertilsson. After racing the DH Cup at Sant Andreu (Barcelona), and with the help of Hugo Garzon from El Gallo components, they decided to come to Madrid and ride some trails. On Monday we met them in the Madrid mountains. The weather wasn't great, but we did what we could under a little cold rain...

Stoked by the video. Impressive looking bike.
You can tell who the "weaker" (in relative terms he's still loads better than me!) rider is though!

Brilliant vid! Great to see my local trails getting covered. I rode those switchbacks on Saturday. They feel steeper in real life!

Any one ever owned a Da Bomb ? or even ridden one? are they any good ? they are pretty cheaply priced and appear to be good frames

In my experience you can go over the bars and land on your head on just about any trail , and even in car parks as I found out:P

Getting sacked by Sunn and having to ride a chunk of metal labeled "DaBomb" is a questionable reward for winning the European champs, isn't it? Way overbuilt frames with silly names and even sillier graphics - I would not even steal one.

Sweet looking switchback trails with lots of roots, by the way. Is that close to Madrid? Same mountain range as the Bola del Mundo that was featured in the Vuelta's penultimate stage in 2010?

I've been riding that trail for decades and it's one of my faves. It's fun, cos the braking points are really rough, and the turns are very tight. Biggest challenge isn't doing it faster each time, but cleaner. Loved how he opened the turns on the way in... cursed 'cos I never thought of doing it myself!!! Smile
