Watch Red Bull Rampage on NBC This Sunday

Dec 25, 2015
by Red Bull Bike

Back for the 10th Edition is the world’s premier freeride mountain bike event, Red Bull Rampage – the contest that puts the “mountain” back in mountain biking. All disciplines of riders including downhill, slopestyle and freeride mountain bike athletes converge on the demanding terrain off Virgin, Utah to compete for glory and bragging rights in one of the biggest tests of skill and guts in the world. This Sunday, a two-hour TV special on Rampage will air on NBC at 3:00pm ET/12:00pm PT as part of the Red Bull Signature Series, a collection of the most innovative and progressive events in action sports.

pair with Paris shot.

The stage is now set as the best riders from around the globe have arrived in the desert outside Zion National Park. The only things that will separate a rider in the start gate from standing atop the podium 2,000 vertical feet below are the narrow, exposed ridgelines, 70-foot jumps over rocky canyons, and the near vertical drops. But for those who step-up to the challenge of man versus mountain, only one will be crowned king of the hill. Who will it be? Defending champion Andreu Lacondeguy from Spain? Can two-time winner Kyle Strait make it an unprecedented third? Or will regular contender for the Best Trick award, Cameron Zink, see his name listed at the top of the leader board? Watch Sunday to find out!

Sal Masekela, the definitive voice in action sports, hosts the Red Bull Signature Series show that is now in its fourth year on NBC. Red Bull Rampage presented by GoPro is brought to a national NBC audience in partnership with Polaris RZR, Pennzoil Synthetics, Samsung, Lifeproof, Jaybird, YT Industries and the Utah Sports Commission.  Can't wait for those inept announcer's comments - "Wow!, He's riding a pop-o-wheelie!"
  • 15 1
Those speed wheelies are worth big points!
  • 10 1
the e brake trick is extremely dangerous and the rider knows the risks of doing that maneuver could be devastating!

Does anybody know how many travel these guys have in their rear forks?

Isn't Cam going to be one of the announcers during the televised contest? I really hope so, he killed it for the live stream.

The only thing that one announcer can say is "Big 3! And he connects!!!!"

If all goes according to plan, I'll be riding my bike then, instead of watching other people ride theirs.

It was horrifying seeing him have to be flown out like that. My buddy took care of him when he flew in to the hospital in St.George. Sad day.

That guy Sal is such a useless hack.

A selected few downhill, slopestyle and freeride mountain bike athletes who are competing just for the glory and bragging rights! Really?
  • 2 0
If you had that kinda of skill, would you do too? Especially since all the sponsors pay for everything. Hell yea, Id do it 2.

I'm house sitting with four dogs and couldn't go out and ride today. The broadcast wasn't so bad and they finished up with a rehab update on Bas. Get better soon !!!!!

Do you think NBC will cover the story of the robbery?
  • 3 1
Maybe now the masses will see how fantastic freestyle and mountain biking overall is

"Their goal??? is to make it to the bottom!"
  • 4 1
2000 ft of vertical?? Not even close.
  • 2 0
if you add up every section they are working on, of course it adds up. lol
  • 1 0
Have you been there and hiked up? Its pretty damned close.
  • 1 0
Yes I have a few times. I live about 25 minutes from the site. It is not even close to 2000 ft of vert. Don't get me wrong, it's still crazy steep and most of it is unrideable by me and most riders.

The commentary for all mtb events should strive to be similiar to that of the WSL.

 His friends call him norby

On my TV (in CO) NBC is called "9 KUSA"... Either way, it's on at 1MT. Pretty pumped!!!

"The most-prestigious event in mountain biking." A bold claim and maybe the only accurate one.
  • 2 0
Cam is doing it right on the commentator mic right now.
  • 1 0
Cam sounded great! Sounded like he wrote his own lines and read them in a tone that made it seem like it was live. Awesome
  • 1 0
Looking back, Genon really had an awesome run. He was hauling up top and then really launched that step down

 Outstanding! Thank you!

 Cool! Smile

Bizet's run was impressive. His girlfriend is from Rockville and I would guess he spends more time than all the other competitors riding that terrain. I thought Semenuk had the best run. His problem probably was that he made it look too easy...

 Tina Dixon is hot!

Especially since she's x pro snowboard rippa. Proly can ride dirty(mtb) too.
