The weekend was just a battleground of events. While Jerry Vanderpool and Graeme Pitts, were out in Mammoth, having a blast in the Kamikaze DH Games, back here in the Philippines, we had our own share of awesome events too. When all the dust settled, victors always emerge, because almost everybody wins during MTB races. Victors are not only those who win in the event, but also those who win against themselves.

"
Yes it is! Great group (mountain bike community) - had awesome fun! NOTHING like the Kamikaze's speed." - Jerry Vanderpool

"
I love coming to mammoth, the courses and conditions are extremely unique so every race is gnarly and fun. It holds some sentiment to me being the venue of my first National Championships back in 2005." - Graeme Pitts.
In the early morning, a Cross Country event was happening in Balamban, Cebu, participated by some very hardcore XC riders, along with our very own Dongkey Sanchez.
His take on the XC race: "
It was a killer of a mountain climb, but ultimately fun going wheel to wheel against top competitors."
On another side of the province, is a DH Race hosted by Team Lukapa, in celebration of a small Town's fiesta. We'd like to commend the team for making such a DH worthy track, and for doing a good job on their first time organizing an event.

Although illegal in many countries, cock fighting is regulated in the Philippines and is allowed as an event during town fiestas.

While the DH riders were getting it down, the Enduro maniacs were also getting stoked in CarCar (home of one of the best lechon, chicharon, and finest shoe makers), an Enduro Lite event was brewing. We'd like to give a big pat on the back to JNTrailbangers for hosting a successful first-time event. There were almost a hundred participants, some of which came from the province of Bohol and Dumaguete.
"
The race was really nice and fun.. lots of people surged the venue..though the race started a little bit late it was still organized... Few riders crashed, including me... mostly stage 1 (due to rain ruts) and stage 3 (jumps)... got mine at stage 3... Sherwin stage 1... i' was a fun filled event Tom."-Niel Jan
"
Just to add... there were a lot of marshalls so getting lost on track was very minimal... Stage 1 started at a sloping portion then going to highspeed fire road connecting to a techy single track with foot-deep rain ruts. Stage 2 was more pedaling with 3 drops and 1 wooden jump, berms, some surprise drops and pump-track section. Stage 3 started from pedaling going to basketball court with a 4 ft drop after which you will enter a semi technical single track with a mix of berms and climbs... in short laspaaaag (really exhausting)... Hahaha..." -Ryan Mejias

"I'll live." - Sherwin Leong.
Congratulations to those who made the podium, and also to those who joined and finished.
Once again a big Congratulations to the Organizers, top riders and those who managed to beat their personal bests. See you in the next race.
