Mountain biking might be an individual sport, but we definitely rely on each other to keep this sport alive. Wesley is one of those riders who won't settle for an okay trail. He pushes his limits until he creates the perfect trail, and won't stop working until he has done so. Wesley shows us why we spend endless hours that turn into months building trails. He has put an insane amount of work into building and maintaining his trails, it's pretty awesome to see all of his hard work pay off and watch him shred his hometown dirt.
We dig at my friends cottage where the "no dig no ride" rule actually applies. Thats why I was confused as to your "no dig no ride" enforcement policy like my first question was asking.
I'd love to see you whiney bitches try to stop me riding "your" trails if they're in a public area.
Hope you have your trail security jackets on to make it official.
B) You don't dig up random ass parks. You help maintain your local trails though. Not just hammer the hell out of them and leave. You bail and gouge some of it out, do the needful and fix it. Don't just shrug it off and call it someone else's responsibility. That's why most public trails go down the tubes because of the "it's not my responsibility" attitude.
Please don't assume everyone rides in BC with a local mountain to dig an ride for free.
Privilege ? Who gave you the right to say where anyone can ride ? What , because you piled some dirt I can't ride there ? Lol. Good luck with that , again.
And you're missing the point. No dig no ride doesn't mean "you didn't build, then you can f*ck off" it means if you break it fix it. If there's something wrong with it, do your best to make it work again. Upkeep. General, simple upkeep. It's everyones responsibility to keep their hobby going, because fun fact, city workers don't build trails, riders do, and they do it for free usually.
Fun fact ....I already told you the trails I ride that have features of any sort ARE maintained and built by either the city or the private company that owns the hill.
The whole "no dig no ride" and "it's a privilege" thing sounds a little high n mighty to me considering everyones scenario is different.
I have to travel to go to any good trails - If I showed up at your local trails with my rake and shovel would you say great ? Or what the fu(k is this guy gonna do to my local trails that I ride everyday ? I know what I'd think. Lol. And why would I want to change the trails in your local area if I'm only there for like 4 hours ? Should I ride the trail with a shovel into pack at all times just in case my handlebar gouges the trail? Just saying your modo is not realistic for some riders.
I was at a pay n ride ($6.75) area yesterday myself.
The info in their brochure says not to maintain or alter the trails at all - hmmm.
