In the Zone – Peak Zone

The elusive zone. It waits for no one. You are either one with it—in sync at every stroke, every angle, every apex, every compression; or in pursuit of it—seeking that magical place where physical and mental states meld effortlessly into the perfect ride.

You’ll find it in Peak Zone. Where some of the world’s best riding is set against the granite spires of the Coast Mountain range. You’ll find it in the insane alpine environment on tacky smooth single track filled with built up berms, switchback corners and fun flowy descents. And you’ll find it in the spectacular views as you experience life at the top of the world.

Top of the World trail looks like what the definition of mountain biking is. Having all these peaks around, it's easy to imagine yourself being in Heaven. I wanna ride it so bad. One day...

Top of the World was alright. Something everyone has to do once, but I will not pay $15 for 1 run on it again.

It's just a WB tourist trap. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're here for a power holiday and have cash to burn.

@Craig7, think about all the other crap you spend $15 on and compare that to the TOTW trail - still not worth it?

In Slovakia there is Rocky Mountain Bike Park, one route is from the top of Hopok, there is 996m of vertical drop, so bigger than "Top of the world" - and this is way nearer from Bulgaria :-)

ziolek, European tour is on the map for sure. Alps are so maginificent and it's much more feasible trip, but I would never ever miss a chance if I can go to Canada one day or go to New Zealand. This is something we definitely need to do in our lives. Besides that I'm more than happy of what we got in Bulgaria - not many bike parks, only a few, but there are a lot of places to ride, and with Europe in a hand you literally have no limits of trails.

seems like a cheap shuttle to an alpine ride to me!

I've Just did it two days ago, and it's one of most memorable things in my life. Glad i did it. If you're not used to "alpine" trail like me, you're in for a shock Smile

You're bitching about spending $15 to ride Top of the World? A cheeseburger is $15 these days.
  • 2 0
I think it should be included in your day pass. You don't spend extra to get up there in the winter. Seems a bit unfair.

It is cruel to watch this at 6:30 in the morning just before going for an other day at work... It is fresh and sunny outside and I just want to ride my bike..... Please let me ride.....
Have a good day...

Rode this for the first time 2 weeks ago. Breathtaking views, fresh air, techy sections followed by smooth flowly berms and tables. A stream that flows down from the top of the mountain (yes, you must drink the water so cold and fresh). Whistler was def. amazing all around cant wait to go back next year - definitly addicted.

same here, rode it last Sat,and it was awsome.

Sadly, you can't ride the peak at the epic sunset time depicted in this video. Chair closes around 4pm, and the trail gets swept and closed by patrol shortly thereafter...
  • 1 2
Actually the chairs run until 8pm leading up to September 1st.
  • 1 0
The Fitz lift does. Garbo closes at 7pm. Last Peak Chair upload is at 4pm. And TOTW is accessed from the peak. www.whistlerblackcomb.com/the-mountain/hours-of-operation.aspx

been there, done that.... and miss it like hell... one of the best rides there is.
  • 1 1
There is no way they were gettin down off the hill in time from those last shots before dark, it looked like sunset, not dawn. Shame they can't show the absolute splendour of the place in a situation we can experience. small aggro I admitt, but as most us dream / save and pray to ride there the video IMHO should portray what you experience.

My shoulder isn´t 100% but I´m going to meltdown this first time in Whistler! And I can´t wait to meet this trail!
It´s my dream since I watched NWD for the first time years and years ago....
