Riding Through A Wildfire Zone - Video

Fire season always hits Southern California hard, torching the steep mountains without holding back. After a local trail was destroyed by fire, all previous vegetation and life were gone. A certain "beauty of destruction" was left behind and a fresh start is now given to the land and to the trails. We hope you enjoy "Wildfire" as much as we did while filming.

Spencer Rathkamp is departing from his cross country ways and starting fresh, diving into the enduro race scene. After a 4th at the U.S. National Championships, Spencer decided to see what he can do for the 2017 season on trail bikes.

Is this Los Pintos trail as in the Viper trail area near Santa Clarita that just burned recently?

Unfortunately Los Pinetos is closed. Viper is open for business though. I'm bummed it is closed since it is riding distance from my house.

What trail was he riding exactly?

the trail is open to ride, just the road is closed to get to it. I asked the fireman at the station and they said feel free to ride up, just dont drive up.

This is Los pinetos trail in placerita canyon park, in Santa Clarita. Rode it a lot before the fire, haven't been back since the fire

This is a closed trail ... not real helpful to advocacy for continued access to trails in Santa Clarita area. Thank you Spencer and PinkBike.
