Win a Set of AG-2 Grips Signed by Aaron Gwin - Pinkbike's Advent Calendar Giveaway

Dec 20, 2017
by Pinkbike Staff
PB advent 2017 - Dec 20 ODI

Dec 20th draw is now closed. The winners of the AG-2 Grips Signed by Aaron Gwin are Pinkbike users BIGIE, Steelersfan4ever, cwoodside4, aidanrides91, peterleeman, surfshakedown, Wesslan, Jammy806, oldphatty, Gaga1806, and Bikeoride1. There are still unclaimed grips so be sure to check your inboxes.
Prize Details:

Our initial partnership with Aaron Gwin produced numerous innovations that pushed grip technology to new levels. With the new AG2 Grips, we wanted to continue to push the limit even further. The AG2 grips feature an ultra soft “Pro Compound” material with an improved knurl pattern that provides extra tackiness and control along with reduced vibration transfer. We coupled these features with an offset grip pattern to allow more padding where it is needed most without creating a large bulky grip. We then redesigned the most impact prone portions of the grips to provide an even better feel and accurate control when riding. The result is the most aggressive mix of traction and comfort of any DH grip available.

@Boardlife69: Hmmm... That would've been cool too, but he already used grippy for number 8. Hmmm. Worth a props anyway Smile
  • 2 1
I wonder... is redshift a night owl, does he pull the graveyard shift, and or is he extremely dedicated... Well... He's obviously that... Never mind

I don't have a bike to mount these. So I'm gonna sit this one out and then Pinkbike will give me the Canyon Spectral because I'm such a good person right?
  • 2 2
They're signed by Gwin though.. I don't think I could mount them for that reason!
  • 2 1
@therealtylerdurden: thats exactly why im gonna Mount the shit out of them, and me

A bike or a pair of grips... If i could be lucky enough to win anything for the first time in my life, this definitely would be the latter. Real chance, signing in!
  • 5 0
 Ditto that... (Upvotes fellow optimist)
  • 2 3
If you notice, you actually win TWENTY pairs of grips with this one. Cool, but I guess the Gwinner doesn't need to care about longevity with his parts.
  • 6 0
@Dethphist: That's twenty pairs of grips for twenty different winners. Not twenty pairs of grips for one person. That would be mildly ridiculous.
  • 1 0
@danspring: Lol... Mildly ridiculous... If you'd notice... @dethphist
  • 3 1
@danspring: So it is. Here I was looking forward to a large box of grips showing up in my mailbox.
  • 3 0
These would be great... My grips are in pieces; have to keep sliding them back onto the bars as I ride. With 20 of these being given away... Maybe I have a fraction of a percent more chance at winning... Please... Smile
  • 4 0
Every day I wait for my inbox to say 1 new message with you won sadly never after 4 years haha oh well ty for all the chances
  • 1 0
Same here. Spam box only contains messages from Hot Asain Babes and lonely Russian girls. Neither of which I am interested in. *Sigh*

Hmm. 4 days left, 4 big brands unmentioned: Fox, Giant, Specialized, Trek. Eh.. Or marzocchi, or rockshox (but SRAM was already listed...), or tires like maxxis or something. Was considering odds of tires, suspension, or another complete bike... Then realized my odds of winning were much smaller than of those being prizes anyway... Lol

 Are they gluten free?
  • 4 2
Very confused Let's see... (Tries them) yep, they don't taste too good... Must be gluten free. (And/or egg/dairy/nut/meat... Free) Wink

Yes, surprisingly the grips are certified gluten free. It is stated on their website

  • 5 3
@mtbikeaddict: It’s double gluten, if you touch them with no gloves on, you’ll shit yourself to coma

I'd like to Gwin these please.

Love ODI grips, but just got another brand to try out, so I too will sit this on out. Good luck everyone.
  • 1 1
ODI Ruffians are perfecto, these look even better. I remember before lock-ons, and what a god send they were, gluing grips on, ruining perfectly good handle bars, the huge hassle installing them, them twisting, and all that garbage gone. Things do get better with time out of necessity.
  • 3 0
Please excuse my if ignorance but when/how are the winners revealed for these prizes?!
  • 2 0
I read that you receive an email to the email linked to your account. That may end up in many ppls junk folder, hope they send a msg on here as well.

is he signing them somewhere on the grip that won't affect the diameter?
  • 1 1
If I win, you can be certain to find them in the Buy/Sell listings... for FREE! Just to show my disgust for ODI as a company. Broken promises, pillow talk, blowing smoke -- however u wanna label it

 No
  • 5 1
Well yeah. Aaron has them and he rides like Aaron, so why wouldn't you?

To be honest I don't know how your riding is currently but if this kind of magic works, I hope it doesn't work both ways. With all respect, I don't think we want to see Aaron's future (glutenfree) bread and butter depends on your riding skills.
  • 1 0
 @sessionlession: Yes, gripwise.
  • 1 2
@vinay: i think he doesn't ride for ODI anymore but I don't know for sure
  • 1 1
@ORTOGONAL555: Ah, that always sucks for a company to first invest in a signature model or have these riders model for their ads and then they leave. I kind of felt for sixsixone when they released a catalogue featuring Bruni and before the new products were released, Bruni went a different direction.

Whose grips is Gwin running then? My first grips which came on my first mountainbike were from Onza so would he be using those too? Not saying it is because he wants to ride like I did on my first mtb, more that people may need synchronized grips and tires these days. Either way, if these grips make @sessionlession ride like Gwin did this past season it should be good enough.
  • 1 0
@vinay: I checked and he still rides with ODI grips
  • 1 0
The purple would look so mint on my purple Knolly delirium..

If it were only that easy to ride like him just install pair of grips a.
  • 1 2
May I please just have 20 pairs no signature required
