Speaking of things that have been gone for a while... WHERE IS THE TOP COMMENTS ARTICLE PB
  • 2 0
 Exactly!!
  • 5 1
Have they run that since the Outside buyout?
  • 6 0
@VtVolk: They ran it right after and switched it from top comments to their favorite comments for obvious reasons
  • 1 2
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I thought I nailed it with my comment. I was just curious how it ranked. They've had a comment follow up the last 7-8 years, nothing this year.
  • 4 0
The comment that got the most upvotes that I saw was on the MVdP story where the teenage girls kept banging on his door. It was "f*cking kids" and it got over 1000 upvotes before Pinkbike removed it. As soon as I saw it I thought it unlikely that they'd do anything on the top comments of '22.
  • 2 0
They'll publish it in the same timely manner as those contest winners (if the all powerful "O" allows it at all)
  • 1 0
SeanDRC which comment did you have? I had, "Hitting an Elk while riding at high speed".
  • 7 0
Funny enough, if they just came out and said they aren't doing it and gave a real reason, whether that is Outside banning it or whatever, people would be ok and accept it. But the complete lack of information, irish exit of popular items such as this, contest winners, fantasy etc. is what is annoying people the most.

Stop AutoPlay and give us AutoEnter!

I will complain in the comments every Wednesday over filling out the form. What the hell happened to " clicks enter"
  • 11 0
Not enough data siphoning to sell! Next youll have to enter dna sample and sin or ssn
  • 1 0
A new approach to not winning?
  • 2 0
@dfbland: AutoEnter, you knew you wouldn't win so we saved you the hassle
  • 1 0
I am one of the very few people in the country knowledgeable about constest law - let's just say it looks like they received some advice since the draws because those were most likely not compliant.

Hmm, a weird iFrame that my ad-blocker hates, let's dig in, shall we?

Posts to: app.viralsweep.com/sweeps/full/bca3ae-131856?framed=1

ViralSweep sounds vaguely ominous... Why a third party app? Do the remaining Pinkbike devs not have the bandwidth, or is it because the third party gathers more info?

It's likely capable of cross-referencing a lot more social media information because it has internal data sharing with other places using the same capabilities. You'll likely start getting random Suntour ads in more places if you fill this form out.

TL;DR: The ad blocker isn't blocking this form for no reason.
  • 4 0
My adblocker also blocks it... Sounds nice.
  • 1 0
Oh, that's why I can't see any link.
  • 2 0
ViralSweep seems OK - it's just a marketing platform. However, on the old form, if you were logged in the form was autofilled with your user name. You just had to uncheck "Receive spam from XYZ company?" and click Enter. Now we have to fill out a whole form to never win.
  • 2 0
Same. First time it's happened before too. Wonder what changed. Honestly can't be bothered to check whether it's due to browser ad-blocking or my PiHole. Either way I guess I won't be entering.

Tbh, most of those types of contests are just naked grabs for marketing data anyway. If one were to actually bother to read the click-wrap agreement they're almost certainly saying they'll collect/sell your personal data to anyone/everyone.

At this point its safe to assume that campaign was just a ploy to get peoples email information. Bummer.
  • 37 0
@Kiltymac: I’m just here for comments, not facts
  • 4 0
@devin-m: ...did you think they *weren't* trying to get you email info??
  • 2 0
@bkm303: haha no I knew what was happening. Personal Info for a chance at a 10k super bike - not a bad trade.
  • 2 0
@Kiltymac: They appear to have missed my name from this list....
  • 2 3
@devin-m: not as big a bummer as giving away all your personal info only to win some crappy Suntour fork.

Durolux sounds like a brand of condom
  • 7 0
Similarly, drivetrain off-brand Microshift makes a partial road group called Arsis.
  • 7 0
180mm travel Durolux for diving into those deep holes faster and more controlled... I'll stop there

  • 1 0
 @Woody25: name checks out

Suntour was on a few podiums this past weekend. DH and Freeride. Not saying it's better but it may be the right suspension for lighter riders... Less is more. You can buy talent with money but your product still as to work.
  • 8 0
I thought these tend to be overdamped and better for heavier riders
  • 1 0
@ashmtb85: that’s been my understanding as well
  • 1 0
@ashmtb85: They are. They break out the drill and port it out for regular riders.
  • 4 0
@ashmtb85: I am a heavier rider(93 kg) and my RUX feels great! Better that the Fox 40 I replaced it with.
  • 2 0
@rglasser: Their damper flow caters to heavier or super hard-hitting riders.
  • 9 2
I have had a lot of great hours of eMTB riding on my SR Durolux 36mm and easy to service. I had some friends laughing at me when I first installed the Durolux, but now they are thinking about installing the Durolux on there eMTBsSmile
  • 4 0
Durolux 36 is awesome on my Polygon. Was a bit concerned at first but now I’m sold. Not sure why these aren’t specked on more bikes. Is this 38 just the same thing with bigger stanchion or does it have other changes?
  • 7 1
Loooooove my Durolux 38!! Has saved me so many times!!
  • 2 1
 Legend ^
  • 6 1
 as always, Quebec excluded...
  • 12 0
@tgr9 blame your provincial government, not the contests....Quebec demands that all contests are approved by RACJ and have a lot of demands including paying the government 10% value of the contest prize, advertising in French, etc. You can register your complaints here: www.racj.gouv.qc.ca/nous-joindre/demandes-de-renseignements-et-commentaires.html

Would love to take this one home! Bought a used bike a month ago and the fork is quite worked (contrary to what the owner had noted... not that statements by sellers should ever be taken at face value...)

Top comment should win it. Then we all know who it was.

Who says AI is needed to separate people from their personal info?
  • 4 0
My older durolux has been legit. Easy to work on too.
  • 2 0
I really am impressed with sr suntour these days. Stuff just works and works well. Plus they are sponsoring some great teams and riders.
  • 2 0
I just made the switch to SR Suntour front and rear, and so far I am liking it more then what I had before. Feels more plush and connected to the elements.
  • 2 0
out of curiosity, why is quebec always excluded in the criterias for people who can get a prize?
  • 7 0
blame it on our boomer government and stupid lottery rules
  • 11 1
Just to resume it, the contest must be approved by the government and the rules must have a french version. If not, the contest is illegal. So instead of conforming to the laws, people who run the contests prefer to just opt out people from the Quebec province because it is easier for them to do so.
  • 18 0
@lRaphl: The rules are also more strict in Quebec, which is meant to "protect" the consumer. Example, Pinkbike and/or SR would be required to provide a cash bond to receive a permit to operate in Quebec. This would ensure the customer receives compensation should the organizer experience financial issues. The government in Quebec goes out of it's way to "protect" it's citizens and in the process has created a massively fat, unresponsive and expensive bureaucracy that takes the fun out of life in this beautiful province. Not only do they take half my salary in tax but they also make sure I can't win free shit.

Why are other countries now excluded of all click2win contests?
  • 1 0
Have they run that since the Outside buyout?
  • 1 0
 Why not Quebec residents?
  • 9 0
This is extremely common in Canadian give-aways as Quebec's lottery and contest laws are different from the rest of the country and apparently pretty restrictive. It's very common to see contests exclude Quebec.
  • 2 0
Hey, you got $10 a day childcare for decades. Factor that in and count your blessings (and loonies.)
