PRESS RELEASE: World Ride

We are hosting out first movie night of the year at The Riveter in Mills River, North Carolina on April 23rd.

“After a two year hiatus of doing movie nights in person, we are excited to connect with the awesome community in North Carolina,” says World Ride Executive Director Julie Cornelius. “We have been blown away by the support from local companies and can’t wait for the event.”

The event will feature various women’s mountain bike films and the movie night is one of the fundraising event for World Ride, a 501(c)3 non profit that works to empower women globally through mountain biking. We have programs in Nepal, Guatemala, Peru, Lesotho and Botswana that help to provide opportunities for local women to mountain bike and have careers in the sport. The most recent project World Ride completed was hosting two PMBIA Level 1 instructor training courses in Nepal.

Other movie night events will be held in Crested Butte, CO, Bentonville, AR, and Tucson, AZ later this year.

Along with the movies, companies have generously donated prizes to help raise funds for World Rides programs around the world. Prizes include a Rockshox SID fork, 3 Industry Nine stems, 2 race entries from Blue Ridge adventures and other prizes from Cognative MTB, Weevil Outdoors, The Hub, EndlessBikeGirl MTB Skills, and Kitsbow.
