Is this the world's first double backflip 360 done by a mountain biker? Either way, it's pretty impressive where this sport is heading and this is one of the most insane tricks that we've seen on a bike, period.
Travis landed this on a dirt bike on his most recent movie-Travis Pastranas Action Figures. The TP7 which he did earlier was a single flip with 360, I think that was in Country Fried.
personally I don't think so. I have done back flips onto stiff airbags and "landed" but don't go around saying I can back flip my bike. still that was ultra rad. only a matter of time till this guy lands to dirt
The airbag would be a great place to try it with some serious spine protection on- a fall out of that trick isn't going to allow for picking and choosing where to bail. Spine protection is fairly restrictive and dirt isn't as forgiving as an airbag...
It's definitely taking the risk factor out of it. You can always appreciate the technical skill involved, but the resi/inflatable landings take away a lot of the "guts" factor we grew up respecting. Yeah, don't worry, I'll downvote myself.....
i dont understand how he makes that late rotation. i guess i would expect a slow 360 as you do the double backflip, not backflip to backflip 360? then again i dont understand how people trick mountainbikes in general
With that title I think Pastrana might have got there first but you could definitely say its a later rotation in the 3 flip. Still tho, way to send er!
Awesome, I remember buying BMX Plus magazine in 1985 (I think). It had a BMX'r on the front called Hugo Gonzalez, he was doing a single back flip. Landing on a shallow transition ramp, in a stadium. At the time that was pretty impressive, but this is next level. Dunno' how harsh the landing will be on dirt, with all the rotational forces and gravity coming into play. Good luck tho' to whoever pulls it to dirt first;
In his last year competing in the FMB tour, Sam Reynolds threw a superman nothing and a bike flip in the same run. So, someone's done one in competition. His creativity and unique bag of tricks was punished by the judges, and he came like 9th or something. Probably why he favours fest series now.
@j-t-g: 1. It wasn't his last year compiting 2. It was at 26trix 2014 3. His score was above the 90's 4. That year all the top 10 had score's above the 90's
That's amazing, but most impressive? I'm not sure. Rogatkin's twister for me is more impressive. Like jaw-drop WTF did I just watch, my brain can't understand. Even a cashroll still confuses the heck out of me. But this is totally understandable and therefore no more impressive. I say it's maybe an even draw.
Either way, it isn't the first time it was ATTEMPTED; was attempted on dirt by Travis Pastrana:

He landed it on the mega-ramp:

Landed on dirt!? It's up for grabs!!
personally I don't think so.
More or less the same thing. So hype regardless!
TAKE MY MONEY...all of it!!!!
I'm still waiting to see this done...
1. It wasn't his last year compiting
2. It was at 26trix 2014
3. His score was above the 90's
4. That year all the top 10 had score's above the 90's
well remembered sir.

Bike flip at 1:56, suicide nothing didn't make it in to the highlight reel.
