Wreckless racing mountain bike team was formed to offer riders that have progressed to the elite and open level the opportunity and the support to chase their aspirations of being the best racers they can be. Wreckless racing is committed to training, riding and racing. Races, events and social media will give us the opportunity to showcase our sponsors and riders. Wreckless racing will consist of 3 elite/open Enduro racers, 2 elite/open DH racers and one Masters Enduro racer.
On the first weekend of October, the mountains surrounding Canmore Alberta played host to the first gathering of Wreckless Racing. Three individuals brought together by veteran team manager A.J. Pedersen, in hopes of putting their mark on the 2015 Enduro and DH Season. All three racers previously knew each other, through bike club affiliations, friendships formed at races, or local bike shops. The goal of the team is simple, push each other to compete at the highest level possible, while still maintaining the fun that brought us all to racing in the first place.
Day one consisted of riding, filming and product testing on the Prospector Trail in Exshaw. A great mix of flowy singletrack, rock roll downs, and a spattering of wooden stunts. The team chemistry was immediately apparent, as hoots and hollers were bellowed out as they all rolled down the trail. Each rider excelling on their own section, proving why they were chosen to be there. To finish off the day of riding, the team headed over on a scouting mission on Razors Edge,
one of Canmore’s most unique pieces of singletrack. Heading back to the condo with sore legs and big smiles, pizza’s hit the oven, and beverages were opened. A.J. took no time in getting down to business, talking about next years program, which sponsors were on board, and which were ironing out the details.
Day two started with some serious breakfast to refuel the legs for another climb up to Razor’s Edge. The cameraman begrudgingly dragging his heavy pack all the way from the Barrier Dam trail head up to the lookout, with a few good shots along the way. With the team having ridden Razors Edge the day before, there was no guess work on line choice, just full throttle trail blasting. When the team finally headed back to the trucks, the talk was all about the season ahead, and how we couldn't wait to ride together again. Hopefully the winter is short.
