PRESS RELEASE: Wy’East Mountain Academy

Student athletes can now pedal their way to success on the boarding school’s private trails, immersing themselves in Oregon’s legendary MTB terrain while getting their education.

We have added a dedicated mountain biking program to our already superlative action sport offerings for students in grades 7-12. Positioned to foster development of all levels of MTB riders, this new endeavor brings together world-class PNW terrain, pro-level coaches, and extensive on-campus facilities to create an unmatched training and progression opportunity for MTB-minded student athletes.

Located in the Mt. Hood National Forest at the base of a volcano, Wy’East Mountain Academy provides unparalleled, year-round access to the world-renowned mountain biking of the Pacific Northwest. Famed Oregon trail systems like Sandy Ridge, Post Canyon, Timberline Lodge, and Skibowl are all just a short drive from campus (Sandy Ridge is across the street!), and the Wy’East campus has access to over 3000+ acres of rideable terrain and private trails. The result is an unmatched environment for MTB progression, both for student athletes who enroll in Wy’East’s brand-new MTB program, and for kids and adults of all ages during Milepost 35 summer mountain bike camps.

Milepost 35 Camps:

We understand that the academy isn't for everyone and we also offer some awesome mountain bike camps for all ages. Based on the Wy’East Mountain Academy Campus, Milepost35 Mountain Bike Camp was created in partnership with legendary pro mountain biker Cam Zink and non-profit Sensus R.A.D. Trails. M35 offers pro-level coaching, over 28-acres of private skateparks, (both indoor and outdoor), 45-foot airbag jump and additional matched-landing mulch jump, trampolines and indoor training facilities, dual slalom course, and access to hundreds of miles of easily accessible and globally renowned Oregon trail systems—all accessible year-round for Wy’East students. During the summer months, M35 camps offer summer day camp or overnight camp sessions. It's a MTB paradise at Wy'East and Milepost35.

We are now offering tours of some of the best trails in the Northwest for all ages, all tours include transportation from Portland (or you can meet on campus) trained guides, shuttles, snacks and water, lunch and some beverages at the end of the day. Check out the Milepost 35 website for more information!
