The Yeti Cycles Big Mountain Enduro presented by Shimano is back for the sixth year running and although they just finished the Finale last week in Mascota Mexico, the crew is excited to announce their 2018 schedule. The BME will continue as the premier Enduro series in North America and will include four major stops for the overall series. Three of the four races will count towards series points, so riders are able to drop one race or their lowest score, if competing in the entire series.

Most of last year’s sponsors will return in full support for the upcoming season and those partnership details and news will be released in the coming weeks. The BME team is working on new trail additions to each venue and making sure to use the best terrain those venues have to offer. BME Managing Director, Brandon Ontiveros stated, “We are eager to get started on the 2018 season and to announce our amazing list of sponsors. Equally, I’m personally honored to be partnering with the four venues we selected for next year and am especially excited to see what we can change up over in Aspen Snowmass for the BME Finals. After coming off a successful EWS event last season and really upping the game with fresh cut trails, we’re going to keep evolving and will attempt to use new and worthy trails throughout the valley with the approval of local permitting and trail advocates.”

With fewer races versus last season and a more manageable schedule that balances well with the EWS tour, the BME hopes see increased racer numbers and attract some the top international pros chasing the overall cash purse of $25,000. Having continued sponsorship support from some of the industry’s top brands, the amateur, junior and master categories will also have huge incentives, competing for large prize packages courteous of ongoing BME sponsorships and the products they provide our racers.

How can they call themselves "the premier enduro series in North America" when they have 3 of 4 races in the same state and the fourth is right next door??? Do they even know what North America looks like? At least the North American Enduro Tour actually tries to cover a broad part of the continent. Heck, even the Eastern States Cup covers more land than these guys.

Coloradans rarely want to admit that there are other states, let alone go to them.

Coloradan here. So, what you're telling me is that other states have mountains?

I agree with you to a point... But Colorado is pretty freaken sweet! But yeah, you've got so much good riding around the country. I would imagine its because the BME is put on by Yeti... And you know where they're from.

June in Crested Butte seems a bit optimistic...

 Seriously...

 No Mascota for 2018?

2 days of Sante Fe Awesomeness. I'm guessing a day back in Glorieta and Windsor Trail + ?? on the second.
  • 2 3
new trails in glorieta I would guess....definitely no Windsor trail. someone would die.

 @patdinho: watch out for Heisenberg

Is the race in Sante Fe or Angelfire?
  • 2 0
About 20 minutes out of Santa Fe. All pedal powered.
  • 3 2
come for the race, stay for the food
  • 1 0
@Klainmeister: That's awesome! I love the food down there! Any idea on the entry costs yet?

@chrisfirth: based on last 2 years, guessing $125 or above. It's a big day, no doubt. First year was around '7,500 of climbing, with lots of it hike-a-bike. The trails are worth it though. We've been checking out some new trail this year and it's exceptionally fun.

@chrisfirth: Looks like they are 2 day races. Last year CB was $200 for the 2 day race weekend. Their 1 day races were $125 so I would assume closer to $200 for the 2 day races.

It’s messed up to light angels on fire

 4 stops. 4. Why?

Endude-ooooro. All the brobrahiems will rip the hedonistic trails as heroes of the pro-gnar

Tthumbnail made me think it was a new meme

Why no eagle!!! One of the best races of the season, super put together and way better course than Winter Park!
  • 11 0
Racing buff dusty singletrack is better than Mountain Goat and Trestle DH? Eagle was fun but a pretty flat and physical enduro.
  • 2 3
@Gobstopper1: And what if it was buff? Eagle stuff is so fun to ride, it's nothing like the other courses. All that moon dust is so fun and so different from the other courses. And the event itself was awesome! It was super chill, just one huge party.
  • 2 1
@bikeis4life: Eagle was added because of their debacle with the washington race that had to be called off. Realistically it was never going to be kept on because of that and because it was mellow and not very hard technically. I would assume the eagle race will still be around as part of the GoPro mountain games as it originally was before BME stepped it and sort of appropriated it.
