PRESS RELEASE: YT Industries

YT Industries is a global mountain bike brand built on reaching milestones. From our humble beginnings 11 years ago, we are proud of how far we have come and what we have accomplished thus far. Whether it’s disrupting the typical bike industry business model, offering high quality – high-value bikes directly to the discerning consumer, developing Downhill World Cup ready race machines or redesigning the capabilities of enduro and trail bikes, YT is a brand obsessed with spreading “goodtimes”. Now we intend to extend the legacy even further and celebrate our latest milestone: The YT MILL.

Located in the heart of sunny Southern California, the YT MILL is the world’s first “in-person” YT showroom experience. Now open Tuesday – Sunday, we felt it appropriate to celebrate this the YT way, by inviting everyone we know and throwing a big ‘ole grand opening party!

The YT MILL opening was a family gathering like no other. We had everyone stopping by including YT athletes, Hollywood celebrities, industry professionals, and local riders. The day was filled with free food and drink, live music, and a raffle that donated all proceeds to the Sensus R.A.D. Tails foundation.

But what does The YT MILL actually stand for?
While The YT MILL is our first public showroom, it was designed to be much more than that. Instead, it’s a full day, YT experience. Come in and check out the entire range of bikes or take out a demo bike free of charge. The YT MILL is strategically located within pedaling distance of great trails and we have an entire demo fleet just waiting to be taken out. Who knows, you may even be lucky enough to get shown around the trails by Richie Schley! Then, after the ride, take a seat on our patio and enjoy a nice cold beverage in the Southern California sun.

Maybe you’re not in the mood to ride? Not a problem, bring in your current YT bike and relax in our lounge area, while our pro mechanics are ready to tune up your bike with a variety of service packages.
While you’re hanging out feel free to browse around, as The YT MILL has tons of unique YT memorabilia including custom frame replicas from the 2018 Rampage competition and the TUES 29 CF Pro Race from our current MOB racer Angel Suarez.

Probably one of the most useless move in mtb industry ever

@dobermon: Don't count your chips while you're sitting at the table.
  • 2 0
@SkipSkovhugger: I see what you did there...
  • 3 1
@dobermon: I can't hold this position much longer - I'm starting to cramp up. Are you even a sodomizer, bro?
  • 17 2
also the irony that the guys who aren't exactly helping keep bike shops in business are now, basically, opening a bike shop.
  • 7 10
The idea that buying online hurts bike shops is simply not true. A bike shop would much prefer you buy a YT and have it serviced regularly by them rather than buy a bike from them and never have them service it.
  • 9 4
@Lanebobane: as someone who's worked in bike shops for years, trust me, we'd rather you shop local for ALL of your purchases. I know we don't make a whole lot on bikes, but we still make more than if you shop online for them.

I know it's cheaper to go online blah blah blah but shops are desperate for any sales we can make.
  • 3 0
Sounds more like a hipster service lounge. IDGAF - I'd check it out.
  • 3 1
Why should the bike shops be helped to stay in business? Why don't they just adapt and start taking also direct sale bikes for service? Why shouldn't the ones who want to get into the sport, but they are discouraged by the ridiculous prices of dealer sold bikes, be helped?
  • 14 0
Mega how far they have come since the start. Good luck in the future guys
  • 10 3
Interesting that one of the brands bike shops think will kill bike shops just opened up a bike shop. Maybe there is something to a showroom and mechanics on hand.
  • 8 0
Great location! When you're done riding you can cruise down to San Onofre and surf Trestles to end your day!
  • 9 1
Great Richie Schley can show people where all the illegal trails are in Laguna in person.
  • 8 2
No cheeky comments about the team replica bike of the first world cup win (with Aaron Gwin) yet? Wink
  • 4 1
Personally I think they've done very well, if it wasn't for smaller companies shaking things up a little then we'd all be riding Specialized or similar, it's great to have choice and due to their obvious success people obviously like what they do, roll on September when my Decoy arrives.
  • 10 5
"disrupting the typical bike industry business model" didn't work, so let's open a bike shop...
  • 7 1
More like it did work because they are opening a "showroom", not a bike shop.
  • 4 2
From the recent backslash from Gwin now I wonder what really happened between the two. YT makes great product but hard to get your hands on well that was before Gwin left but now things are in stock and moving. Still a great bike at a great price hope these guys turn things around and be a threat to the competition. I think if they fix the rear shock placement to get a decent size water bottle in that triangle I think it will be a home run
  • 4 3
"Turn things around"?? Are you F'n kidding me? YT dominates Freeride (remember that, the thing that started PB?) How about the perfect DH season under Valentina Holl? Don't cry for YT.
  • 1 2
@endlessblockades: your the only one that sounds like their crying YT is great I meant turn around as in racing where are they at in the UCI downhill men’s category I’m not talking about women
  • 2 0
@nlibot33: Why not about women? It contradicts your idea, so you have chosen to ignore it. Good logic Smile Or what about their freeriders in Rampage and Darkfest?
  • 3 2
And you have to rely only on the pictures from the website when you planing to buy a freshly announced bike in the motherland of YT... Such a Facility would be awesome near the factory too! Its bit of a shame that the first Mill opened in the USA, but says a lot about the importance of the heritage, company roots and from the future plans well...

Funny to see how much hate YT gets from the dealer staff and dealer fanboys. Keep being ripped off by the dealers while we are using the savings for a few awesome bike trips. And no worries with the warranty claims, I had 2 in 2 years and everything was fast and smooth. Also working on my bike is fun and relaxing. Some basic mechanics, a bit of common sense and the right tools are enough to fully service your bike. More options, better for the riders ????
PS: this is just my personal opinion. Don't be a snowflake ????
  • 5 3
i feel like i just watched museum of electric guitars with signed jimmy page's guitars , but unfortunately was just a couple of yt frame riden by some guys with tatoos over the past 3 years
  • 4 2
My YTs could use 'a variety of service packages' while I sip a beer. Hell yeah - all of this world's so-called civilization isn't without merit. But going to Socal isn't all that frequently done....too bad.
  • 4 0
Looking good! Vinnie Jones and Tippie, what a deadly combo! Hollywood?!
  • 6 1
 Vancouver next?
  • 4 1
 Nah, 5th Avenue in NYC.
  • 4 1
Why is YT using Hollywood actors to sell bikes. Does Vinnie Jones ride?

I don't get it.
  • 2 0
Bulletproof Tony on an E-bike. Yikes!
  • 1 1
Yeah, this is stupid. That or millennials are that dumb.
  • 1 0
Nor me. Makes me like YT less. What has MTB got to do with Hollywood!
  • 3 0
Vinnie Jones goes over the bars in 3..2..1.. hope he's used to non UK routing.
  • 4 0
Christopher Walken should be the greeter.
  • 6 4
That would be rad to go there and meet Aaron Gwi... nevermind. Great roster move.
  • 7 2
A sober Tippie parties so much harder than AG - you're not missing anything. The Gwinner proved the bikes are winners but hired guns get max deals in free agency no matter what the media spin was.
  • 8 4
@endlessblockades: no, Gwin just proved he can win on any bike.
  • 7 2
@thesharkman: didn’t prove yet on intense
  • 2 0
If McLaren opened up a free demo shop next to a racetrack, I would probably shut up and take the keys.
  • 2 0
I guess when your gun says "Desert Eagle .50" on it, there is a YT in stock for you.
  • 2 0
Hey, that's a nice bike shop you've got, company that has done their best to dismantle bike shops.
  • 2 0
San Clemente sucks don’t come here.
  • 1 0
 lol
  • 3 0
 I liked Yt-ind
  • 2 0
YT still stands for "Young" Talent right?
  • 2 2
Yeah, the worst name in the industry.
  • 4 0
 @SeaLoam:

#Sick is the worst name in the industry.

I agree - the Germans do have an odd way with English. Just because English is mostly German doesn't mean they always use it too well. Germans are great at being tourists and engineering things, tho - can't deny that.
  • 2 1
But what does The YT MILL actually stand for? They never answered
  • 2 0
 i don't get it.
  • 2 1
might as well wrap it in plastic and sell it in the frozen section
  • 3 1
 Bring your surfboard...
  • 1 1
This looks nice. Is that why I have been waiting so long for my set of replacement bearings for my jeffsy?
  • 1 0
 a poor headset.
  • 1 4
I thought about buying a YT until I read numerous reports online that their customer service is atrocious..
