Press Release

YT 2017

For this year, the Jeffsy, Capra, and Tues will all be available in the very exclusive CF Pro Race version. Thanks to the new flagship “Liquid Metal” paintjob these high-end bikes will certainly turn some heads on the trail, while the killer builds and highly adjustable components will be high on every racer’s or pro-rider’s wish list. Another highlight of the new range is the introduction of an XL size for both the Capra CF and the Tues CF – welcome news for any rider who enjoys a bike with longer reach. In general, the new range offers everything that YT has built its name on: from entry-level race rigs for Young Talents to the most exclusive premium builds, there is something here for every budget and every riding style.

YT Jeffsy 2017
YT Jeffsy 2017

Jeffsy

When it was released in 2016, Jeffsy dropped like a bomb. 2017 promises more of the same: YT’s aggressive 29er trail bike will for this year also be available in a CF Pro Race version, sporting a rad new paint job and the very finest components. With Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension, SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes, Renthal carbon handlebars, a carbon crank and wide range cassette from e*thirteen, this exclusive bike inspires maximum performance – and not only on the race track. Meanwhile, the Jeffsy CF Pro confidently holds its own line, with FOX suspension that casually smooths out the most uneven of trail surfaces. For those looking for a wider selection of gears, the Jeffsy CF Two and AL Two with their SRAM 2x drivetrains have plenty in reserve. And last but not least, the AL One is a perfect entry-level machine that scores extra bonus points thanks to reliable components and an unbeatable price.

Capra

The carbon version of this enduro legend is available with three different builds for 2017: CF Pro Race, CF Pro, and CF. The CF Pro Race is the flagship offering of the enduro range, once again ready to go into battle sporting Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension components. All new for 2017 are the e*thirteen carbon wheels on the CF Pro Race, as well as the Race Face and e*thirteen dropper posts that appear for the first time on the CF Pro and CF models. Those who prefer aluminum will find what they seek with the AL Comp or the AL. Both aluminum models come equipped with RockShox suspension components: the highly acclaimed Lyrik fork pairs up nicely with the Monarch+ RC3 and Monarch+ R, respectively. For ultimate shifting performance, all CAPRA models run SRAM 1x11 drivetrains this year.

YT Tues 2017
YT Tues 2017

Tues

Aaron Gwin successfully proved last year that the Tues is not only a World Cup worthy downhill bike, but that it has the pedigree to claim the top spot of the podium. Reason enough for us to build a CF Pro Race version! FOX’s 40 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock deliver World Cup vibes in the suspension department. Freshly introduced to the downhill game by Gwin himself, the TRP Quadiem G-Spec brakes are on stopper duty for the first time this year. Carbon wheels and cranks from e*thirteen and the carbon handlebar from Renthal help keep the weight down and the reliability high – just as you would expect on a purebred race machine.

At YT, it’s not only the flagship model that belongs on the racetrack. The Tues CF Pro and Tues CF were also born to compete: the CF Pro with its noble FOX suspension, or the CF with its easy-to-tune RockShox BoXXer Team and Vivid RC2 shock. Finally, the Tues AL is a fun and affordable way to get into the sport of downhill – offering outstanding components for smaller budgets.

For a lot less money, you could get a YT, wait... never mind.
  • + 35
Kind of some odd specs on suspension and drive train for the Jeffsy CF Pro Race gets top tier spec but with 11 speed XO1 CF Pro gets mid tier suspension from Fox with 12 speed Eagle CF One gets top tier suspension from Rockshox but with XO1

I'll wait for the next big marketing wave of the next new kid on the block.... and their prices will go up like a scuba diver's fart....
  • + 6
@badbietz: Guess they decided to go with the 9-44 to lower the cost to slide in the nicer parts at a lower price.
  • + 13
@badbietz: CF Pro Race has X01 11 speed but with a 9-44 TRS cassette (488% range but smaller and lighter than Eagle). While cheaper it does make sense for a race bike I guess. CF One has Sram X1.
  • + 1
@badbietz: I noticed that myself. I'd be curious to hear from YT themselves why they chose the components

They have more bills to pay now.

@badbietz: SRAM cock blocked OM spec from mixing Eagle cassette/mech with any other Cranks than Eagle.
  • + 6
Looking at Euro pricing the hike is not that bad, the top end capra is 500 euros more expensive than it was 2 years back, but it has now carbon wheels and bars, and they ditch Bos for top of the range Fox. It's still half the price of specialized s-works enduro here.
  • + 1
@badbietz: I can only imagine there has been some form of sponsorship deal from e13 to spec their top flight bikes, as you are right. Shame there's no ISCG mounts to get the full e13 catalogue on the Jeffsy

Gorgeous bikes but I don't regret my decision with the '16 CF pro
  • + 11
Might I add their customer service is phenomenal! BOS had an issue with their Devilles starting from 2014 on, and because they didn't step up, YT did and reached out to their customers and offered a free fork swap for a Lyrik, and they offered to cut the steerer, install a star nut, and race and shipping back. Damn son, thats customer service. "There ain't no traffic on the extra mile highway;" going over and above! That's how you make new customers and keep current ones-- a model to be learned from. Now I'll send my fork in for an Avy upgrade and will be much better than having the BOS- thank You YT, had to publicly brag on u, u got'a customer for life..

That liquid silver color looks ace!
  • + 136
Do you mean GREY ?? It's alright
  • + 35
 I would prefer chartreuse.
  • + 1
Favorite color especially with the red accents
  • + 13
They call it liquid metal. At room/trail temperature, that'd be mercury, not silver.

That said, there is an amorphous metal patented by Liquid Metal Technologies.
  • + 151
So now we're painting carbon to look like metal, and painting metal to look like carbon. Man, 2017 is crazy.

@barrysbikes: it wasn't a serous equivalent most shops will sell 10-20 off msrp some shops in ski towns sell 40-50 off at the end of season. So although they are priced well I don't think comparing the list price of yt to list on other brands is an accurate match.

  • + 8
Propain has better prices. And are customizable. And the Rage is one hell of a bike
  • + 1
Me to . I can't justify paying $5-6 grand plus on some big name bike. Why would I?
  • + 2
As intriguing as these mail-order companies are, ordering something online means a headache when another manufacturer's part fails. Some bike shops may help you get something warrantied but they probably aren't going to send you out the door with free demo or take something off inventory to get you back on the trail.

If I look back on my last 3 bike purchases (all through a shop), I had random parts fail. Some of these parts include: CC rear shocks (3 of them), Rockshox Revelation fork, Sram X01 cassette (3 of them), XTR pedals, Sun hub, new SRAM Guide RSC lever, a Maxxis tire and probably a couple more that I'm forgetting. If I would have had to deal with Sram directly it would have been a nightmare.

Also, most shops will knock $500 or more off MSRP. If they won't, go somewhere else. Just a few things to consider before making a large purchase.
  • + 1
@bankz: well if u dont mind used, you can generally get a 1 year old $7-8k(original msrp) for $4-5k....or last year model new at shops.
  • + 1
@ryan83: actually YT handles the parts warranty in the US. I send them the Reverb, they get it replaced and return it to me. You can also go direct with SRAM, etc., at a race if you prefer. Just setting the record straight.
  • + 1
@bankz: canyon mnt bikes come to mind.
Having the build that one wants is a tall order from some stock bikes.
I don't penny pinch on my bikes...get what I want and need....life's to short...braapp.
  • + 1
@endlessblockades: yes but only after mailing back and forth. How long does that mess take? Who pays for shipping then? Will sram trust you when you tell them that the brand new $350 cassette they just warrantied starts creaking again? Maybe, but I'd rather have a shop pull something out of their inventory, hand it to me and then deal with the warranty for me. That's why shop bikes cost more, because if they are a good one, you'll spend more time riding and less time dealing with bs when things go wrong.
  • + 1
@ryan83: I can't argue with that - luckily only my Reverb failed in nearly 2 years of riding. It's a chance you take when saving a couple of Gs. They spec pretty reliable stuff, at least on my model, so I'm happy. Nothing has stopped me from riding so far......the reverb was pogo-ing but rideable.
  • + 1
@RedBurn: give Gwin what he really wants..
A 29" dh bike! He likes that moto feel
  • + 3
@ryan83: Those are fantastic questions and really valid concerns. Most emails are answered in less than 24 hours, most the same day. YT pays for all of the shipping, sends out labels to customers and also sends out new parts while the faulty ones are in transit.

The value of a good shop is immeasurable to say the least but YT is no snatch and grab operation.
  • + 2
@bhowl: thank you. That's actually really good information! That Tues is very tempting...
  • + 17
WTF The Capra prices are $500 less than I paid in 2015 and with better stuffs. I guess that's a good thing. Why the high-end models don't have Fox Transfers is beyond me....guess they were forced to run a package to get the good price.
  • + 3
Negociated prices. Their componentry is rather well chosen yet a little odd here and there (as in, not bad but odd choices). I'm fairly sure this is 100% due to pricing of these parts and some parts are priced much cheaper than others because they basically got better deal on them.
  • + 2

To bad you cant demo one first
  • + 23
The distributors can demo bikes, in Canada the showroom is in Squamish, in the states, Reno. Also during crankworx you can test them and aswell on the "rolling circrus tour" which demos the bikes all around the world.

Dont waste your time on a demo.. just order one and watch the smile on your face grow and never leave!
  • + 5
You can in Reno and at events like Seca and Mammoth.
  • + 12
they had a demo in angel fire last season. Line looked like the girls bathroom line at a lolapallooza concert." What do you mean you only brought one Tues in each size?"

  • + 11
Not too hard to find a YT to tryout these days, see more YTs on the trail than Spesh lately.
  • + 1
@TugboatComplex: I think that's because you don't live in Northern California. Santa Cruz and Specialized rule our trails.
  • - 2
That's really not a very important complaint. All bikes have wheels. They're all rideable and you can get used to them all. All you need is a brain and a measuring tape to choose the right one. The advice you get in a bike shop is always one sided in the benefit of the shop moving what they need to move anyway.
  • + 1
 @asboites: I'm a Norcal early adopter and i've seen quite a few - I was surprised.

  • + 5
What is the difference between the TUES CF PRO and the TUES CF in terms of the wheels?

LG1+ v. LG1? e13 doesn't seem to list a plain LG1 on their website, and in the YT photos the wheels look the same.

Any idea guys - google didn't seem too revealing?
  • + 0
Robin, Yes they are the same. It is a typo in the specs Thanks JM JM Gagne
  • + 4
These combos do seem strange. The CF Race has a Reverb as does the CF2. The 2 inbetween models have Turbines. Don't get that. Seems like a lot of people like to buy the lower CF1 since it comes with the Pike and then set it up at 150 or 160. CF Race has eThirteen cassette and the Pro has Eagle. Seems like that should be reversed. Same weight for both the Race and Pro even though the Race has carbon wheels.

Perfect bike would be to get the Race, swap out the fork to a Pike or Lyrik at 150 or 160, swap out the Reverb for a 9.8 175 (large frame), and sell the wheels and go with a boosted front wheel. I would take Derbys all day long and probably break even on that switch as well as break even on the fork swap.
  • + 2
I'm just guessing here since I'm not familiar with the parts, but perhaps they spec 1x11 on the race model because it's lighter than 1x12. Possibly, the same is true for the suspension.

A guy I know told me on the trail yesterday that the new Fox 34 is lighter than a Pike by about 3/4 of a pound.
  • + 8
@WaterBear: that fox 34 also needs oil in it lol
  • + 3
@onemind123: Fine, I'll look up the actual weights.

MFG spec: RS Pike is 4.1 lbs. The Fox 34 is 3.92.

Welp, you were correct to be suspicious. The Fox is lighter but by more like one-fifth of a pound.
  • + 6
Liquid Metal bikes travelled back in time from the future to kill Jon Conner. Everyone knows that.
  • + 4
Both the Jeffsey Pro Race and Pro come with E13 TrsR carbon wheelsets. The Jeffsey 3 comes with TRS+. There is no plain TRS wheelset. I emailed YT today and got clarification as i noticed the spec was off on the website.
  • + 1
Did they happen to mention the internal rim width of the Capra pro race wheels?
  • + 1
@billfingmurray: e13 TRSr come in 27mm and 30mm internal widths. Considering the 29" wheels and "trail" rather than Full on Enduro of bike I would bet that the rim diameter is the 27mm, but thats just my guess
  • + 1
Thanks for pointing that out. Was wondering myself. Funny that they still haven't updated it!
  • + 6
I'm really disappointed that there is no XL size of Tues AL... Shame, shame, shame
  • + 3
I just hope they are made a little more robust. Second warranty claim and been waiting with no response since 20th December. Absolutely love the bike and for the price unbeatable, just be aware of what your getting into. 12 months old and I've had 2amd a half months off it on warranty and counting.
  • + 2
I really like that you can obtain a extremely well-spec'd high quality DH race bike for thousands less than the "big three" manufacturers. However, I would like to see an XXL since the XL would still be a tad small for my taste. That is my only negative feedback.
  • + 2
I think they run longer then average bikes. I'm between a medium and large and have had both size bikes. I emailed them and they said that a medium would fit me better than a large. Got one on the way.

Sucks that I picked up the last 2016 medium and the 2017 is only $500 more which I would have gotten.
  • + 1
@million435: No, YTs are either way too short (Capra) or average length.
  • + 6
458 reach for an XL size = XL size for hobbits.
  • + 2
 Exactly
  • + 2
Agree, that is not a proper XL.
  • + 2
Well the DH bike XL has a 470 reach which is almost a XXL V-10...wait another 2 years and YT will catch up with Pole and Nicolai...
  • + 1
@SintraFreeride: Agree, sorry, but I was referring to the Capra.
  • + 2
If your over 5'10 then these are really a bike to avoid.
  • + 3
So I guess we Euros are really the ones for whom YT is a bargain, it might not be so obvious for those of you in the US... (also here american and canadian bikes are really REALLY, which makes YT an even better option!)
  • + 6
Oh boy. There go my savings again.
  • + 3
I didn't see it but i sure hope all yt bars start at 780 at least if not 800. Been seeing many, like intense, specd with 760 Renthal which is absurd for a product manager to do.
  • + 5
@YTIndustries please give us a short rear option on the Large and XL Jeffsy.
  • + 2
Maybe cause I'm slightly OCD but the way they spec some of their models confuses me. So looking at the Jeffsy on the YT website the Pro Race has a X01 11 speed drive train yet the Pro is (arguably) better spec'ed with an X01 Eagle. But then the Pro has a RaceFace cockpit with a 780mm bar versus the 800mm Renthal on the Pro Race. The bar width then drops down to 770 on the CF One and Two. Same thing re bars on the Capra 800 on the Pro Race, 780 on the Pro etc etc. Mind you they say the Race Face SixC is a 780mm bar, I thought it was 800. Wouldn't you spec them all with an 800mm bar that you can then cut down?
  • + 4
Wow, that's just words and not much sense.
  • + 3
I also find it weird that the Renthal bar is seen as an upgrade compared with the SixC.
  • + 1
Does anyone know why the Capra CF is only 165mm rear travel whereas the other options are 170mm?
  • + 3
@rmalexan: The fox X2 has a couple mm more of stroke therefore increasing the travel vs the RS
  • + 2
What I do not get is since when the Capra is considered already a "legend". Really? Other than that, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to beat those specs in such "low" prices in comparison to any other brand. I have no experience from riding a YT, or from a friend, but it looks a true weapon.
  • + 2
I bought my Tues AL in December on sale. It was originally the same price they are now except with more wheels. Honestly the prices on the pro models have dropped. I think all there bikes are a steal.
  • + 1
@YTIndustries, please add the info on what wheels you have on the models! Somone on this thread is saying the Pro model has carbon wheels, but does not show this on the site. There are 2 different widths of wheels. Which ones are included?? 27mm or 31mm?

ATTENTION!!! As far as YT is concerned, CF stands for Crack and Fail! I bought a Tues CF in 2016, I was happy with the bike until I recognized a crack at the seat tube in November 2016. I send the frame to the headquarter in Forchheim and expected to get a new frame. But, they told me the cause of the crack was my own fault because they imputed to me that I had inserted the seat post way too much (which I definitely did not) and due to that caused the crack. They "offered" me to buy a new frame for 1120 €, haha!! Devinci, here I come...
  • + 2
I am happy that I bought one of the lasy Jeffsy Al 2016 size L for 1499€ . Black and blue frame looks awesome ???? Shimano SLX 2x10 is better for me than 1x11.
  • + 1
I notice the site has changed their sizing guide considerably. I'm 5'9 and now fall between a medium and a large. Any advice from 5'9 YT owners of a Tues or Capra? What size are you riding?
  • + 1
 Get a Large.
  • + 1
@SintraFreeride: Cheers, I was leaning that way.
  • + 1
@karatechris: More space to move around and more stable plus the seat tube is low enough.
  • + 2
@SintraFreeride: u dont even know if he is looking for tues or capra
  • + 2
@karatechris: it amuses me how people ask for advice, then get the answers without arguments, and then even thank for such an answer.
  • + 1
@maqusss: I'm interested in both but I've not decided weather I'm getting a DH bike or a long travel Enduro bike. :-)

Thanks for the opinions. Luckily there are quite a few people with Tues and Capra's at the Christchurch Adventure Park so I'll get to sit on a couple at least.
  • + 2
@maqusss: I don't need to know which since both mediums are tiny thus the large is a better choice.
  • + 1
 @SintraFreeride: Cheers, really appreciated!
  • + 2
I would have been much happier to get some new colors in the lower spec bikes! That grey is cool but...how about some new colors on the bikes most people will buy!
  • - 1
Say whatever you want about Gwinn, but I think he could win a WC DH race on one of Charlie Kelly's old Schwinn klunkers that they used to run down repack. That being said I'm sure YT builds a great bike. The component selection on some seems a bit odd but, minor quibble.
  • + 3
Still no 26 frame that Zink and Andreu ride though

I hate to be a negative a*shole, but basically they kept the same prices from last year and downgraded just about everything in the spec. Just a personal opinion but not feelin the Halloween black and orange. Miss the sick aqua-blue color. I hope Canyon hurries the heck up and comes to the US. More options are always better for consumers.
  • + 5
You are very correct on the spec and paint but almost every single price dropped. The only price that did not go down was the Tues Pro Race, which stayed the same.
  • + 1
@bhowl: yeah I see. In terms of value, last year on the pro models (Capra/Jeffrey) you got a carbon wheelset for the same price now. Now they have E-13s aluminum wheelset... which has said to be of questionable reliability by most reviewers if I'm not mistaken. Also weird choice by dropping the eagle and putting on the TRS 9-44. Not nesisarily against it, but sorta questionable.
  • + 5
Damn I'm such a good whiner.
  • + 3
@bridgermurray: You still get carbon TSR race's on the top models (some models last year didn't have a Pro Race, just a Pro), with this years Pro models getting the alloy TRS+. I've tested them both alongside my DT Swiss XMC's and the E*13's are much superior, particularly in compliance. The DT's are honestly brutal to ride on solid terrain.

Man... All those Renthal headsets sound really nice. New product for 2017??
  • + 1
Just noticed the "specials" from the Australian site $3,499 AUD have been removed...
  • + 2
Looks like a Duracell f*#ked an Energizer
  • + 1
Anyone else have misgivings so many models are spec'ed with e13 wheels? They seem to have a very mixed reputation.

Can someone at YT please explain the huge price difference between YT in Europe and in the US ?
for example, a Jeffsy pro race cf costs in Europe 4500 Eur with 19% VAT ,so 3781 Eur without VAT. in the current ex rates, its roughly 4000 USD , that's 1500 USD difference !!!! (in the US there is no VAT).

is there any crazy import tax for bikes in the US ?

thanks
  • + 1
hell of a color scheme, eh??? bland ass grey and little ginger boy red. however will I choose
  • + 2
why don't they sell as frame only?
  • + 1
Hey @ytindustries, I want to buy a Capra. Please make the bloody seat tube shorter so that I may do so.
Ta duck
  • + 1
Where's the Kashima? Seems a lot of black Fox forks on otherwise near top-end builds.
  • + 4
Because we've all coming to realise Kashima is not worth it and black looks better anyway
  • + 1
I do like YT but I am very concerned that many posts critical of YT appear to have been removed.
  • + 3
They are all at the bottom after the last comment. You just have to click to view.
  • + 1
Does anyone know when the 2017 Jeffsy will be available? Hoping to get my hands on one this season!
  • + 2

@ytcanada: why no Tues XL made of metal please?
  • - 1

  • + 3
 liquid metal FTW!
  • + 1
Rode 2nd/ 10th hand bikes untill now. So happy YT is putting up decent bikes for decent prices. Thank you YT.

Finally an affordable XL downhill bike for the 6'5'' bean poles! Going to start saving up..
  • + 1
does anyone else think aaron gwin's head looks photoshopped in the first picture?
  • + 1
Anyone know whats happening with the DJ bikes, specifically First Love. When they'll be back in stock?
  • + 1
I wonder why they didn't spec the new bikes with the rockshox superdeluxe shock.
  • - 2
Great bikes, and love the direct sales pricing benefits but a couple of things...
1) "liquid metal" is kind of ugly as hell.
2) the Canyon Sender (DH) /Liteville 601 (everything else)
3) In south africa (go to the webpage and do the conversions if you like) there seems to be a local distributor. I cant fault them or YT for this, SA is a big-ish and growing market but our postal service is severely third world. So the local distributor takes care of that and the import costs (were a little protectionist still) and, of corse, his cut and the result is if I save a month or two more I can go down to my local bike store and pick up a nice Santa Cruz that in reality is not a lot more in monetary terms here. In other words the whole appeal of a YT is lost- directly sold, cheaper but spec'd to match the "dream bikes" of the world all goes out the window. But seriously, point number 2.
  • + 1
Haven't had the pleasure of riding a YT yet, but I like the look of them. I'll have mine in raw Carbon or Polished Alu....
  • + 2
AND... there already out of stock...
  • + 1
Thanks Brexiters - now €4999 converts nicely to about one less kidney.
  • + 1
@YTIndustries not specking a Boost option on the Capra?
  • + 1
 Starting to feel expensive..... hmmmmm
  • + 1
Every price on every model dropped.
  • + 1
@bhowl: last year specs, so parts are cheaper.
  • + 1
So, are the prices before or after Trump's new import tax
  • + 1
Need a XXL Jeffsey for us tall folk. The XL is too small for me at 6'4"
  • + 1
3k on the al tues and it has a kage?!?!?
  • + 0
The shot with Gwin is horrible: position is weird and static, stupid face, visible postproduction...
  • - 1
I thought these buy direct options were supposed to be more affordable? I'd rather support my LBS if I'm not going to be saving any money.
  • + 1
No geo changes to the Jeffsy?
  • + 5
 no changes
  • + 1
 @ytcanada: Thanks Smile
  • + 1
 NEW SIZES?!?!? SO 26" right?
  • + 1
No mention of the ridiculous lead times again....
  • - 3
You know I was going to let this thing drop....but when I saw JM's post, It brought back all the memories of the wasted effort I went through to try and get the credit for shipping and t-shirts I was promised by JM when I placed my order. We went back and forth for months - I still have not recieved credit for shipping and no, I am not wearing a YT t-shirt while I type this. YT does suffer from poor customer service - end of story (unless I guess you live close to squimish).....
  • + 1
Any details on the geo numbers for the XL Tues?

  • + 1
 "SRAM 2x drivetrains"
  • - 2
no boost or metric so that main parts are a lot cheaper as they are old stock....good package though.
  • + 7
Jeffsy is boost rear. Don't really need boost up front unless you're running plus sized tires.
  • + 3
 Jeffsy is rear boost
  • + 1
@gbeaks33: IMO boost is gross if the design doesn't need the space (such as for plus size tires). How many guys in my riding group have actually taco'd a wheel? None (that I know of). You have to go to DJ or DH to see that, and yet boost is appearing on trail and enduro bikes all over the place.
  • + 0
@WaterBear: and because of boost, the rotating assemblies on said trail and enduro bikes can now be made lighter.
  • + 5
@WaterBear: I agree! I think boost forks with regular 29er rims just look weird. Makes your 2.4in tire look like a 2.1. I think Jeffsy is boosted in the rear for shorter chain stays. Kinda glad it's not boosted in the front.
  • + 2
@gbeaks33: Yep, probably. Another gripe I have with Boost front hubs is they widen the arch and crown of the fork. You are, in some small measure, trading increased lateral wheel stiffness for decreased fork stiffness. I don't know about you but I personally would rather have the stiffer fork.
  • + 0
 Really expensive *
  • - 2
 Not even metric. Meh.
  • - 2
Noone else wondering about those black Fox Stanchions?? #ByeKashima
  • + 3
 They're the performance coated sanctions
  • + 2
Not sure there's anything to wonder about...? Kashima is still very much around, on all their Factory-spec kit, as you can see on the CF Pro Race Capra and Tues. Black is what you get on the Performance level kit. Been like that for a while.
  • + 1
 @prenderville: performance elite ...
  • + 3
Kashima Coating is a proprietary product of the Miyaki Company, I would imagine Fox have to pay to use it. That probably makes the black coating a cheaper more suitable option for their Performance range of shocks, with Kashima reserved for the top level Factory stuff.
  • + 1
 @NickB01: different damper too. Grip!
  • + 3
 @RedBurn: the f*ck dude?
  • + 2
@therealtylerdurden: he prefers kashima than black, that was a joke
  • + 1
@MX298: Not on these ones, these are 'Performance Elite' with the Fit4 damper. Regular 'Performance' has the Grip damper.
  • + 1
 @NickB01: oh . . . . OE only . . . . . Your right! Smile
  • + 1
Why is it elite when noone raced that coating in the worldcups?
  • + 1
 @lumpfboldbiker121: because it's not Factory ! ! !
  • - 3
Why no Tues AL in XL? The one bike I'm interested in and it's only large. Rubbish YT.
  • + 1
That's weird. The aluminium version used to be available in XL, the carbon version wasn't. Or am I mistaken there?
  • + 2
@vinay: You are mistaken. There was no XL previously. Much to the disappointment of my 6'5 a$$.
  • + 2
@bentown: XL is still going to be very small for a 6'5" person... At least it's longer then the Capra
  • + 2
@src248: Yeh, it's a bummer. Then again, most bikes fall into the too small category. I just say I like small bikes like Ratboy.
