in the picture before this one you can see why he went over the bars. He lent so far back he was sitting on the wheel, slowing him down just before 'droping in'. still, awesome shot. and i hope he went back up and nailed it the second time. plus props.
Did anyone think at first the picture was taken at an angle? I tried to tilt my head to find the right angle but then saw the trees :L That looks damn steep.
+1 for shred-nz-media. In the sense that PODs are (strangely, according to me) not always great pictures from a purely photographic viewpoint. Sometimes it's a bad shot but a good MTB moment. Like this one. Though I'm not sure the rider really had a good moment here but you know what I mean I guess.
kona dude...the demo was the top of its class when it came out, im sure you have seen the collective with matt hunter riding it like its a feather, if you can't ride it, you're just making excuses. apart from that... strong or stronger than any bike being made today, i should know, ive got one in conclusion, they are sick bikes which give you a tonne of confidence, dont diss
rydindirty.... it's called opinion.
I don't see any reason why this should get POD. PODs should have good scenery, good riding, and good photographic skills. At least one of those, preferably more.
This has none.

maybe he stuck the landing for the perfect "10" from the judges. rode it out with peer cheers echoing throughout the valley, then at the bottom of the hill smotherred in dirt groupies like the lone male in an 'axe' commercial. well, maybe he got lucky and the nurse was cute.lol.
