The truth of the matter is this guy has better style than half the people on this site. The fact that he is doing this whip on a full XC race bike only solidifies that. All praise Nino Schurter, king of the XC whip!

you asshole are single minded, Pinkbike isn't only for people riding dj and downhill bikes, XC is the biggest part of the cycling industry, it is just not advertised as much as events like Rampage and FMB so shut-up

and people calling jeffrupert an a$$hole and douche, even bringing his mom into it, for not liking a picture, simply stating his opinion in a respectful way. come on guys. should people not say anything if they don't like a picture for risk of being flamed? if someone puts a picture on the internet for people to see, they are inviting criticism as well as praise.

All he said was he didn't like the picture. He said nothing against XC or XC riders, so I don't get where all this childish name-calling and angry comments are coming from.

haha saying i dont a like picture isnt being douche, if i wanted to be a douche id say it was the most disgusting picture iv ever seen, which i did not say, i have an appreciation for every aspect of cycling, i was just stating it doesnt compare to other pictures that have gotten pod in the last little while. In my opinion any one who brings someone elses mom into an arguement over the internet is a douche.

I've been there and few XC boys went out to ride park on sunday in similar uniforms and bikes... I haven't seen them railing berns but I saw them jumping and whiping a bit by the upper gondola station. All I can say was that they were better at it than me on a 160 bike.

true it's like a half x up slight tilt of the bike and weird body turn. still cool to see it happen in a race.

Thank you, exactly, not a whip. None of the whips I've seen have been done without bending the knees and getting the body out of plane with the frame. Further, you initiate the whip with the angling of the bike away from vertical upon takeoff. None of that happening in this pic.

Props to the rider for bike control and fitness, but as for POD, i think not.
Basic rule of thirds used in the photo, no distinct use of color and horrible cropping what with hands and faces sheered off at the edges. The Foreground is just a blur of dirt offering no dynamic to the photo. As a result. there is nothing about this photo that really grabs our attention other than what the rider has to offer. Getting this photo just took being in the right place at the right time. Im sure Vanja could do better.
